The Atkinsons spent Monday in Ogden at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson were Logan visitors Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gardner and family of Logan spent Sat urday and Sunday at the Tom Harper home. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Holman spent Monday in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Holman enter tained the Social Hour Club at tneir naome Friday evening, there were 15 guests present, Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Nielson spent Monday at the Holman home. Mr. and Mrs. Jr Nielson were over night guests of the Holmans Friday and Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Fryer and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Rhodes were in Ogden on Monday. The Rhodes took their baby daughter for a check-u- p following her siege of polio .and she is progressing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Christen sen joined with the other fam ily members to honor their par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wood on their 43rd wedding anni versary. They met and had din ner at the Maddox Cafe in Brig ham. They also had a beautifully decorated wedding cake and presented the honored guests with a gift. Mr .and Mrs. Wildon Grover and daughter Rhea were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and. Mrs. Eph Peterson. . Mrs. Leroy Oyler, Mrs. Lyle Johnson and Mrs. Leon Anderson were Logan visitors Monday. Mrs. Naomi Oyler, Essie Peterson and Louise Harper attended the Daughters of Utah Pio- Al-lre- ds neers Convention in Brigham City. Mrs. Harper and Mrs. Peterson sang in the chorus from the Garland Camp at the morning session. Chase Peterson made a business trip to Rexburg, Idaho Tuesday. Delos Adams and Ardes attended the faculty party at the Tremonton School Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Grover had as Saturday guests Mr. and Mrs. Leland Patterson and daughters from West Point. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grover and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Boss were Logan visitors on Sunday. ELWOOD By Mable Romer Korean Vet To Be Discharged Mr. and Mrs. Heber Morten-se- n received a telephone call Friday evening from their son Ralph who landed in Seattle Friday morning; from Japan. Ralph has been overseas the lf past two and years, and in Korea for the past 15 months. He will receive his discharge at Fort Lewis this week. His parents left Tuesday for Washington to bring him home. Miss Marilyn Miller spent last week-en- d at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Marion Miller. Marilyn is employed in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Mortensen were in Layton last Wednesday visiting their son Foy and famone-ha- ily. Last Thursday our PTA put on the program for the American Education Week hour over radio station KBUH Brig-haCALL City. Student journalists from Bear High School have been invited to participate in the annual Intermountain Journalism Conference at Brigham Young University on December 1. Five hundred delegates are expected from more than 50 schools in Utah and surrounding states. Conference attenders will receive practical instruction from Utah newspapermen and other guest speakers on effective publication methods for school newspapers, magazines and yearbooks.
