Cornelius Anderson, generally known as "Neil", died in Goldfield, Nevada, on the 28th of May, after a few days illness. Mr. Anderson resided in Tremonton for some time and married Miss Ethel Moore of Salt Lake City about six months ago. Last fall ho moved to Corinne where he was employed by A. G. Woodward as bartender. Upon the change of firm the first of May, he went to Goldfield, leaving his wife until he found employment, when she expected to join him. A few days ago a telegram was received stating that he was seriously ill and his wife immediately started for Goldfield, reaching his bedside about three hours before he expired. His body was brought to Bear River City where the funeral was Last Saturday afternoon Tremon ton's business men went up to Garland to play a friendly game of ball with the Garland business men. "The game was played with all the frills and furbelows usually put on by amateurs when they try to ape the professionals, and the way the ball was tossed and batted was a caution. A part of the time it was in the field and a part it wasn't, in fact it went anywhere and every where and the struggles of the base men and lielders was enough to brine a smile on t he face of a wood Indian. For some time a number of men employed in this vicinity have been boarding at Hotel Kent and their employer agreed to be responsible for their board bill. A few nights ago he called on Mr. Kent and found out the amount of the bill, something over a hundred dollars. He promised to settle the bill, the men having left town. But instead of doing so, he also started out for another state. In some way Mr. Kent found out his scheme and by the time he reached Ogden the sheriff was on hand to receive him. After some parleying over the telephone an agreement was reached whereby Mr. Kent got his money and the other party paid the costs.
