We got together to enjoy the festivities that Beaver City had to offer in celebrating the 150th birthday bash. The concert held at the Karl Truman Gym on February 3rd was delightful.' We were disappointed to see that more of the townspeople weren't there to enjoy such a great band however we didn't make it to the dance that Saturday night so we can't shake a finger at too many citizens for not going!! We met. again at the "Timberline Restaurant" for a great Tea Time luncheon February 23rd. Our theme was a Red Hatter's Teatime. Each member brought a teacup or favorite mug and a story to tell about it. What fun stories were shared. Following a major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services will not be able to meet the demand for everyone. That is the reason for CERT. People will need to rely on each other for help in order to meet their immediate life saving and life sustaining needs. CERT classes are being offered if you are interested in helping yourself, your family, your neighbors and your neighborhood in an emergency situation. Each course will last 24 hours. Training covered will include disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue operations, CERT organization, disaster psychology, terrorism and then a CERT and disaster simulation will be held.' The next training class will be held at the Minersville Elementary on March 24th and 25th and will be completed on April 7th and 8th, 2006.
