Deutcher Vcrein, which means "German Club", is set off in a red and black background at the bottom of the pin. A double eagle with widespread wings distinguishes this pin from other clubs. A slen der chain attaches the "62". year guard to the nest of the pin. The officers' pins are a little differ ent. Instead of the years they have different guard. The President's is a gavel with "President" at the 'bottom; vice president has a torch; secretary has a pen and bottle of ink. This sterling silver pin was purchased by all second year members who wanted it. Later these German club pins will serve as reminders of the experiences students had when they took German here. Diaper rash is caused by the same basic things, dampness and irritation. The remedy in most cases is to keep the skin dry. However, this is not always easy. When a rash already is in full bloom, it is ir- four-pag- . ritated if rubbed with a towel. Instead, you should blot away moisture. Be sure to use only a clean towel to avoid infection. Powder or cornstarch absorbs moisture and helps dry the are and relieves the itching. If moisture gathers again after powder or cornstarch is applied, it will cake and must be cleaned off. With babies, the affected area must be kept dry. Let the baby wear only diapers, but be careful he does not get chilled. A diaper rash requires more frequent changes so the baby ia kept as dry as possible. Babies with diaper rash often are sensitive to any kind of powder. Use of a heavy lubricant is recommended to promote healing and protect the irritated area. Rubber pants should be avoided, for they restrict circulation of air. Air is good, since it tends to evaporate moisture before it has a chaw to cause a skin irritation. If rash becomes so serious that there is bleeding, a doctor should be consulted. The possibility of infection is high and its consequences serious. x, Short-Cu- t BOWL of piping hot soup takes the sting out of a easy blustery day.
