It is now available at Southwest Health Departments. Recommendations are for high risk individuals under the age of 35. Those under the age of 35 have not been exposed to this virus and will have developed no immunity to it. Those especially suffering from asthma, heart disease, diabetes and other chronic illness should consider taking the vaccine. News releases indicate that several cases have now been diagnosed in the United States. Persons who should not be vaccinated are those who have had an anaphylatic sensitivity to eggs. Persons ill with a fever should not be vaccinated. Children age 12 or younger who have never received any kind of influenza vaccine should receive two doses, one month apart. If a child or adult has received Trivalent flu vaccine this year then one dose of Taiwan vaccine four weeks or more after that injection is recommended. I was real happy when Randall and Allyson and their family came and took me with them last night to see the beautiful Christmas decorations all over town. It is worth your time to ride around town and see how many homes and yards are decorated so beautifully, it really gives you the Christmas spirit. King and Donna Morris and I went to Escalante, Utah yesterday to visit with Gil and Jane Becenti and family and to deliver their Christmas presents. Mike and Monti Morris spent the week-en- d in Las Vegas visiting with Larry and Mary Lynn Morris and family and doing some Christmas shopping. Hal and Gloria Murdock and daughter, Cheryl spent the week-entaking care of some business and visiting Hal's mother, Lucille Jense, and his brothers, Joe, Reed, and Dale and their families. I think several Beaver people were in Las Vegas to attend the Rodeo; King and Donna Morris, Bill and Irene Cox, Pat and Lee Ann Joseph enjoyed being there. I went to Las Vegas with them but visited with Darlene Harris where Bill, Irene and I stayed. King and Donna stayed with their son and family, Dr. Larry and Mary Lynn Morris. Sara Black was in St. George recently to have surgery on her feet. She said it was real painful but she is improving nicely. I was real happy when I came home yesterday and found a beautiful Christmas card and potted Poinsettia from my grandson, Ronald Cox Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lamoreaux of Paragonah visited with their daughter and family, Joe and Gaytha Benson and attended the Delano Diamonds Christmas Concert on December 15th. Gaytha is a member of the chorus. We attended it and the Diamonds and other special numbers did a marvelous job. If you didn't go you really missed something. Richard and Gerri Carter and family were in St. George Monday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Johnson, Gerri's mother. Vie Yardley and . the Merrill Yardley-- . family,, all attended , the' Greenville Sacrament meeting Sunday, December 14, 1986 when Charles Yardley was sustained as President of the Elders Quorum with Merrill Yardley and Ray Abriel as counselors. Merrill is Vie's son. Arlo and Ila Messinger spenf Thanksgiving in Chino, California with their son Jerry and Judy Messinger and their four children, Ryan, Joshua, Heather and John. Dale and Ann Messinger Christiansen and two daughters, Jennifer and Melinda came over from Tucson and visited with the family from Wednesday evening until Sunday. Ila's sister, Nella Copelin, invited the families to a delicious dinner at her home in Fullerton on Friday evening. Saturday the families went down to San Pedro to the Cabrillo Marine Museum where they were able to see and touch the various sea animals and handle the whale bones, They enjoyed gathering the sea shells on the beach and the basket lunch by the waves. On Monday morning Arlo and Ila drove to Tucson to spend a few days with Ann's family before returning home. On the way they visited the nuclear power plant that is south of Interstate 10 on the way to Tucson. The plant uses the 140,000 acre feet of effluent per year that comes from the Phoenix sewer system through 9 foot diameter pipe. On the way home they visited with Ila's sister, Lucille Farr, in Phoenix, and then on home. They report the weather was beautiful during the daytime, but required sweaters in the evenings. Mrs. Lois Bullock of Cedar City visited her mother, Itha Lindsay Saturday and attended the Parowan Beaver Basketball game. Don and Glenna Stevens brought their mother, Beatrice E. Spendlove to Beaver from Roseburg, Oregon to spend 12 days over the Thanksgiving holidays. She visited her daughter, Maria in Cedar City, Ned and family in Beaver and brothers, Pershing and Len Erickson. She sold her home to Brian Hanley and moved to Oregon last April to live with her daughter, Glenna Stevens. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Ruesch and Anita and Jerry Roberts were in Salt Lake for Thanksgiving at the home of their daughters, Rachell Ruesch and Peggy Ann. The day after Thanksgiving, November '28th, 1986 Peggy Ann Ruesch and William D.A. Breeman were married at the home of Sandy and Lynn Clayburn, 537 E. Jene Drive, Sandy, Utah. It was a lovely ceremony with a small open house following the ceremony. Mr. Breeman works for Continental Steel Corporation. Peggy Ann is a typesetter at Associated Food Stores in Salt Lake. They will be making their home in Sandy, Utah., Mr. and, Mrs. Randy Ruesph a'n4 family of Beaver, Mr. and Mrs. Don Stevens from Roseburg, Oregon, and Mr. and Mrs. Garth Bohn from Cedar City were there for the ceremony, as well as other family members and close friends and neighbors. Ken and Thelma Barton have recently returned home following a weeks vacation in Sun City, Arizona. Their daughter ' June and her husband Dell Jensen, of Salt Lake accompanied them. Thelma says that it was great for them to be able to sit in the back seat and to relax, knowing that they had two good pilots. While there, they visited Cullen and Dixie Barton. Cullen is Ken's nephew and he will be remembered as the son of John P, and Nell Barton (deceased). They were well known, long time residents of our town. Thelma was happy to see her sister, Lucille Williams, and her husband feeling pretty well. It was over 3 years ago that she had seen them. She will go to Logan to visit Bill and his family then to Mesa, Arizona to stay with Allen and Bobby and family. Martha Paice has been in Provo, Utah for a week with her daughter, Ileen Olsen Harris and family. She attended several Sessions in the Provo Temple. On December 5, 1986, Ileen's youngest daughter, Julie Olsen and Doug Honey of Orem, Utah were married in the Salt Lake Temple. Family members attending were Martha Paice, Erma and Aldon Nelson, Lucille Strong, Leon and Alta Paice. They also attended the reception.
