Show THE BEAVER PRESS-NOVEM- BER 13, o fill o fro My Grandmother My name is Ranee Hutchings and I would like to tell you about my grandma, Virginia Banks Beaumont. She was born in Parowan, Utah on April 21, 1912. She was raised in Minersville. Her parents are Randell Banks and Julia B. Banks. She has three brothers and three sisters. They are: Burton Banks, Dorthy Robert Richard Banks, Morris, Banks, and Shannon Caldwell. My grandma was the second child. On Sept. 15, 1927, she married my grandpa, Leland Standford Beaumont. They were the parents of nine children. They are: Dawnette Keel, Sue Von Baldwin, Karen Gale, Vickie B. Hutchings (my mother), Jack Beaumont, Janice Kennedy, Chris Beaumont, Rodney Beaumont, and Beaumont. She has 33 Kelly grandchildren and 42 1986-PA- 6 GE Cv Counti Her childhood friends were Neta Baker and Therma Eyre. When she was young she liked to play Run Sheep Run at night, baseball. She also enjoyed swimming and skating. The pets she had were a dog named Prince, a horse named Old Rob, and a dog named Fish. Her most frightening experiences was one Halloween night she and her brother Burton went to the neighbors house to trick or treat, they put a pumpkin up to the window and ran a tick tack against the window and made a noise. The lady inside the house was standing on a' chair putting her dishes in the cupboard, she turned around and saw the pumpkin and fainted. My grandma and her brother ran home as fast as they could go. She remembers when her cousin could not be found for a long time, and then uiey found her in the Canal, she had drowned. Places she has lived are Miners-villMilford, Parowan, Beaver, Leeds, and Charleston, Utah. Her favorite foods are turkey and dressing, potatoes and gravy, and Apple pie. Her favorite drinks are milk and Pepsi Cola. Her favorite movie is Gone With The Wind, and her favorite TV show is Magnum P.I. Her' favorite car is a Chevrolet, but she never learned to drive. Her favorite sport is Football (on the radio). Her hobbies are cooking and making quilts. My grandma is the best cookie maker in the whole world. His salary shall be increased $75.00 per month. It was noted that Mr. Kehr will have to provide an easement to the boxes, meters, etc., so that Beaver City can maintain the individual metering devices. Mr Kehr stated this would be agreeable. After review of the standard costs of meters throughtout the State, Councilman Hutchings moved, Beaver City amend its waterworks ordinance to adopt the following water meter costs: Inside the Corporate Limits: " line - $500.00; 1" r line - 2" line Outside the Corporate $1,100.00. Limits: 3A" line - $2,500.00; 1" line $2,800.00; 2" line - $5,400.00. All voted in favor of the motion. The City Recorder was instructed to prepare the ordinance changes.
