And what a glorious day it turned out to be. The avalanche of beautiful birthday cards and letters that each mail brought, the dozens of phone calls were town-wid- Bud and Dorothy Robinson of Paragonah, Ut. visited with us Tuesday. They had been to Orem to see their new granddaughter. Dorothy is Eugene's daughter. Steve and Vilda Stephenson were in Beaver Saturday to attend Emil Nower's funeral and to visit with Hal and Nell Smith. We were very happy when Vilda came down after the funeral and we had a good visit with her. She said she really enjoyed living in St. George. Lauree Stevens of Roy, Ut., spent last week with her parents, Gilbert and Vie Smith. David and Maureen Cox and daughter Marie visited with David's parents Sunday. Bill and Irene Cox and other family members also. They live in Cedar City. Naomi Baker has just returned from a six weeks visit in Parker Arizona with her daughter and family, Vernon and Joan Hughes. It seemed the phone was busy all through the day. Many of Stella's friends and neighbors called at her home to express their best wishes. Some sent plates of delicious food. Others sent chocolates or home-mad- e candies and not to forget the bouquets of lovely flowers. Stella's heart was filled to g with deepest gratitude, joy, love, tears of happiness, and ever lasting appreciation for such a display of kindness and friendship. It must be true what some folks say, "Do not count your age by years, count by friends." A gift that is sent becomes as dear and precious as does the sender. One of Stella's fine qualities which I have noticed, is her willingness to forgive. It isn't always easy to do so, ! Each week several good stories are left out either because we could not cover them or businesses fail to advertise for your business and we lack room to print stories. If you, your organization or club don't inform us about news items, we can't print them. Call us or bring in your news items ! it HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MARILYN, March 16, 1984. Right here I am reminded of Carolyn M. Kurth, a popular writer once said, "Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that crushed it." I would like to add my own thought to hers. "Forgiveness is a diamond gleaming in the dark." Dear Stella, how very rich you are with so many wonderful friends, neighbors and relatives who remember your birthdays. And God loves you too, just as you are where you are and how you are. He too remembers. Happy Birthday, dear Friend. I hope you live to see many more such glorious days. I also hope I can be near your side when they come in.
