I was fixing dinner and decided to water TV my plants. Had one on the the into back went it watered kitchen. Went back into the living room and asked Hartley if he turned off the TV. He didn't, the water from the plant went behind the TV and burned it out. It didn't get replaced until we came home. Washed a load of clothes and the water went back down the back of the washing machine and blew the motor out. Was lucky the motor was just replaced. After traveling over 6,000 miles and no car trouble, had to go to Salt Lake for some tests. Two days in a row. After one test, we went out to dinner and to pick up Sonny V.C.R. We stop on state to buy some tape and the car wouldn't start. Thought it was a battery. Lucky for us we were parked in front of an automobile agency. One of the salesmen came out to help us. He brought his battery charger and jumper cables. Nothing happened. Hartley decided it was the starter. But before that, Sonny went down the street to two gas stations to see if either station had anyone that could help. They didn't. Then Hartley wanted to fix it himself. Dumb idea, he soon gave up. So Sonny went the other direction looking for help and got a fellow with a tow truck to come and move the car off State street. Got the car chained to the tow truck. The fellow said where do you want to go. We didn't know anyone to fix the car and he didn't want to tell us. Well, we finally decided to leave it at the car lot. The tow truck fellows said they had a good mechanic and besides we couldn't get a starter until the next day and you talk about hot! I should have lost 10 pounds, but I didn't. So we left it there and called a cab to go back to the motel. Got in the cab and I said "now I don't want you to scare me". He says, "I won't". The cab driver was from England. Well, after the first intersection, I covered my eyes with my hand and prayed. What a trip. Never again! We couldn't have broke down in a better place. The fellows that worked at the car dealers were so ' nice and helpful. Next morning our car was fixed in time for my next appointment. Only thing wrong. Sonny and I never got a chance to go shopping and spend our money, not all of it anyway. ' My luck hasn't changed yet, but I haven't blown anything up lately! -- COLUMNISTS Margery Mackerell Louis Lessing Sandy Barton My sister Veone Patterson of Richfield, Ut., and Gladys Ross, also of Richfield, visited on Thursday with LaVed and Ilynn and Gladys visited her father and brother, Martin and Lavory Green.
