Bert and Mary Low Bentley also visited with the Hoopes. They were going to Panguitch Lake to spend some time at their mountain home. After spending three weeks in Beaver visiting with friends, Mary Celebrate 65th Anniversary Herb Hall, 85 and Fern W. Hall, 83, will celebrate their 65th Wedding Anniversary September 5, 1983 with their immediate family. Herb and Fern were married September 5, 1918, in St. George, Utah. They lived in Minersville, Utah where they ran a farm, milked cows, raised sheep, beef cattle, turkeys, pigs and almost every other farm animal. They had five children; J. Clark Hall, deceased, family living in Pleasant Grove, Utah; H. Ray Hall, Cerritos, Calif.; Walton W. Hall, Westminster, Calif.; Maurine Hall McClutheon. South Gate, Calif.; Marilyn Hall Williams, Bountiful, Utah. In 1941 the Hall family moved to Compton, Calif., where they ran a cash and carry dairy for three years. Herb then sold real estate for several years, even moving to Riverside to sell real estate there, before moving to Leisure World in Seal Beach, Calif., where they live today. They both enjoy fairly good health and love to have their families around them. They have five children, 19 grandchildren and ' 26 great grandchildren. Herb and Fern now reside at 13560 St. Andrews Drive, 3 G., Seal Beach, Calif.,'01740. Paul Thomas DUP Ann Jaremko left Sunday to return to her home in Maryland. Mary Ann is the daughter of the late Jane Murdock Jaremko. Hal and Gloria Murdock had a family dinner Saturday and invited Sam Cox to enjoy the dinner and evening with Hal, Gloria, Debbie, Denise, Sheryl and Trisha. Jubilee conducting. their home. After spending one week in the Beaver Valley Hospital, Mrs. Dora McMullin is recuperating at her home from her illness. Her daughter, Mrs. Kaye Adams from Cedar City and her granddaughter, Mrs. Linda Hatch and two chldren visited with her over the weekend. Brian and Carolyn Broadbent and family have been visiting Carolyn's parents Grant and Vilda Esplin. While they were here Brian's parents Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Broadbent of Long Beach came and they all spent a few days at the Esplin's North Fork Ranch. Grandma and Grandpa Broadbent took Sara and Abram back to Long Beach for a two week visit. Brian went back to Orem. Carolyn and the younger children visited with Grant and Vilda. Sara and Abram had the thrill of riding the airplane back to Salt Lake were their father met them and came back to Beaver to get Carolyn and the rest of the family. What a treat it must have been for Sara and Abram. Ben and Debbie Smith of. Southern California spent one day during the July 24 holidays with Ben's parents Bishop Clark and Opening Prayer offered by Cary Havens. Chorister Elizabeth Yardley and organist Kathy Riley lead the music. Youth speakers were Gretchen Murdock talking about tithing. Daughters of Utah Pioneers held County Jubilee at the Pool Park Saturday, Swimming August 13, 1983. A delicious potluck lunch was served to 25 members. County officers were in charge of the program. Macelle Horton talked about the District Convention to be held in their Marco Brienholt talked about preparing for the last days. Troy Gale was sustained a teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood. Bruce Carter talked of the importance of having Jesus in our lives, living righteously, making the earth a good place to live, teaching children to walk up in the ways of the Lord. Wayne Crook was the concluding speaker. He encouraged each to choose the right way to live, obey the Prophets, encouraged the boys and girls to take the Seminary classes to help others as well as ourselves. They have just returned home after spending two weeks in Alabama with their daughter and family Layne and Teresa Pace. Layne is stationed there in the is Eugene's Army. Dorothy daughter. Talbot, and our brother, father and son, Curtis Talbot, died August 13, 1983, in Washington, in a Helicopter accident. Elwin was born October 18, 1932, in Beaver, Utah to Renford and Delsa Gale Watts Talbot. He married Rosemary Robinson, May 31, 1951, later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active in the LDS Church. Served as Scoutmaster, currently Counselor in the to St. George August 16 to be sealed for all time and eternity. There was a good crowd from Minersville that went with them to take part in the special occasion. Bonnie and kids went to the Button Reunion in Fredonia. They spent a few days visiting with friends and family. Wednesday evening the area between Minersville and Milford got a shocking surprise when a flash flood came out of Cave Canyon taking out parts of the flood control in a lot of places between Baileys out on the flat and Milford. It laid down and covered a small section of the fence. The flood ran across the highway in several places and flooded the canal. As it tore down the flat it broke out a basement window at the Philip Bailey home leaving behind about four inches of mud and water. The flood also hit a lot of the fields on the flat making them look like small lakes. The water really did a lot of damage that won't be easy or cheap to clean up. Kristy Maycock spent a week in Lake Tahoe, Calif, visiting with her Aunt Dot and Colleen Bowaitt. She really had a good time. They went to the beach, boating and out for a special supper one night because it was her birthday. They went swimming and did a little shopping for school clothes. Kristy and her Aunts went to Virginia City to have a ride on the biggest ski lift in the world. Kristy said it was a real thrill. They also went to Reno, Nev. She sure had a good time seeing all the different places. She took some picture to show her friends at home. them. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Jones and family and Mrs. Ida Mortensen left Thursday to attend funeral services for Mrs. N. Luella Briggs Green who died in Salt Lake City. She is the sister of Mrs. Mortensen and the late Cora Briggs Lindsay. David and Mary Yardley Hauver and family of Overton, Nev. spent three days visiting Mary's brothers, Floyd, Calvin, Charles, Dale and their families and was here to attencl the Beaver 1st Ward party and see their many friends. They have been touring in California and the Northwest. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Easton of Terre Haute, Indiana are visiting with Richard's parents Ray and Norma Easton. Richard teaches at the university there. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Carter are living in California where Allen is attending a Helicopter mechanic school and he invited his family for a visit with them. Eddie and Debby Smith and family, Pete and Wendy Yardley and family and I guess all the other family members and he will take them all to Disneyland to enjoy the sights and sounds and the special things that go with the trip. Joe and Gatha Benson and children Julie and Joey and LaVar and Alva Gale and their daughter Carolyn were in Salt Lake to attend the funerals for Elwin and Curtis Talbot, Friday, August 19, 1983. They also went to Paragonah for the - PAGE 3 Bishopric. He was an Automotive Technician for 30 years currenrly-servicmanager at Jerry Seiner Chevrolet Company. He enjoyed being outdoors, and camping with his family. Survivors: wife, children, Valerie, Karen and Mark, all of Salt Lake City; parents, Paragonah, Utah; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Steve (Ida) Adams, Parowan, Utah; Mrs. Lamar (Shirlene) Rosenberg, Cedar City, Utah; Kent Talbot, Calif.; Jerry Talbot, Salt Lake City; two grandsons, Paul Curtis Talbot and Daniel Johannes Haidenthaller. Curtis Talbot was born August 7, 1952, to Elwin W. and Rosemary Robinson Talbot. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed sports and running. He participated in most of the races in Salt Lake and around the state. He also enjoyed camping and motorcycling with his father and brother. Survivors: son, Paul Curtis, mother, brother and sisters, Valerie, Mrs. Gunther (Karen) Haidenthaller, Mark Talbot, all Salt Lake City; grandparents, Renford and Delsa Talbot, Mrs. Hannah Robinson, both Paragonah, Utah; aunts, uncles and cousins. Joint funeral services were held August 19, 1983 in the Millcreek Stake Center. Interment Paragonah Utah City Cemetery. They are: Varsity; Cheryl" Gale, Alison Lowe, Gina Bradshaw, Susan Roberts, Kathi Smith, Traci Gillies, Heather Robinson, Nicole Dotson and Staci Hutchings. Jr. Varsity are; Shelly Black, Lesa Albrecht, Marcie Dotson, Paula Bradshaw, Natalie Goff, Shelly Lee, Holly Robinson, Lori Limb, Pam Bradshaw; Rae Lyn Wilson and Sheila Howell. These are .excellent teams and should be strong "contenders for the ' "" ... Region trophy. The first game is Wednesday, August 31 at Enterprise and Thursday, Sept. 1 at Valley. David and Jolene Heslington were in Farmington, New Mexico August 13, 1983 to the World Series Baseball games. Their son Curt was pitcher in the Connie Mack Baseball World Series. Curt is with the Long Beach team and they got 3rd place in the U.S.A. baseball. David and Jolene should be real proud of Curt. Congratulations! Dr. Doug and Madeline Nielson and family spent the weekend with Doug's parents Paul and Eris Nielson and Madeline's parents in Minersville. Mrs. Nell Blackett would like to thank her secret granddaughter for the lovely cookies she has received and the lovely note explaining why she had missed bringing her something. How thoughtful these lovely secret granddaughters are. Merlin Patterson has recently had relatives visiting with her and Evan. Ambrose and Rose Patterson and granddaughter Alene of Grass Valley, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Ross Patterson of Milford, Danny and Bonita Patterson, a little son, Alice Lunt of Cedar City, Cecelia Patterson and Mary Patterson and daughter Krestin of Provo. Richard and Valarie White spent the weekend with Valarie's parents Howard and LaVern Bradshaw and family. Tom Swindlehurst, Joe Campbell, Cox and Mark Carter Randy enjoyed the weekend bow hunting up in the Coyoto valley (haven't heard the results). AUGUST 25, 1983 e Curtis Talbot Robbie and Cola Eyre would like to thank everybody for the many lovely gifts and everybody who helped them make their big day a memorable one. Robbie and Cola honeymooned in Denver and then on back to Minersville. The family of Robbie Eyre got together to welcome home Robbie and Cola and also to celebrate Robbie's birthday. Those who went were Rulon and Rachel, Jerry and Joanne Eyre and Larry and Carolyn Maycock and their kids. They all had a good time eating ice cream and cake and hearing about the honeymoon. Bryant and Nina had Derald and Linda Joseph and son Tim to their house for a fish supper Monday night. Derald and Linda brought the ' fish and Nina showed them how to fillet them. Jodi Maycock celebrated her birthday on August 22. She had many friends help her make the day special. Happy Birthday Jodi!
