Jim and Emma Burke and daughters Carolyn Burke and Bonnie Judd were in Beaver, Monday. They had been to Cedar City to visit Jim's sisters and families Emma Hair Nelson and Hazel and Christine and to go to the St. George Temple to do some family work. They also visited in Milford with the Hampton Burkes. Dr. Larry and Mary Lynn Morris and family Wade and Hillary of Las Vegas spent the weekend with Larry's parents King and Donna Morris and Larry assisted Dr. Hal Murdock in his dentist office. King and Louree Stevens of Roy, Utah spent the weekend with Louree' s parents Gilbert ' and Vie Smith. Lydia Smith returned home last week after spending several months in Orem and Salt Lake with Charley and Larue Smith, Cornell and Iris Smith and Glenn and Ilene Stroud. Mr. and Mrs. C. Ferrell Dana of Phoenix, Arizona visited the weekend with Mrs. Lula Tanner. Eugene and I had the pleasure of attending the Bulloch - Her-manse- n 438-286- April 23, 1981. Paul and Florean Warby of Cedar City, Bill and Geor-gen- e ' Warby and Keith and Evelyn Warby enjoyed dinner Saturday night with Phoebe Warby and spent the evening working on their Genealogy. Evelyn said it was a very interesting and informative evening. Hazel Eyre has had as her guests recently Marguritt and Allen Johnson of St. George, Utah, Euzelle Thomas and Virginia Gillins of Milford, Utah and Theron and Laretta Corbridge who have spent the winter in Mesa, Arizona and was on their way home to Lehi, Utah for the summer. Carol Smith held Open House at her home april 12, 1981 for Mrs. Alberta Campbell Bohlen on her 90th Birthday. Many friends and neighbors called to wish her a Happy Birthday. Refreshments were served by Carol. Maud Boyter would like to thank her secret granddaughter for the beautiful Easter Basket and the lovely food that .was in it. It was delicious and Maud was so thrilled with the thoughtful-nes- s of the giver. Thelma Baldwin was honored on her birthday, April 24, 1981 when she and her husband Loyal, Charley and Larue Baldwin of Orem, Kenneth and Leona Baldwin of Ogden, Eugene and Verna Baldwin of Lake Port, California, Don and Carene Garth and Sue Baldwin, Baldwin, Greg and Kim Solberg enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Ponderosa Cafe. After dinner they went to Don and Carene's to enjoy birthday cake and ice cream. The beautiful cake was made and decorated at Kelly's Kitchen Bakery. Rulon and Helen Hansen and son, Terry and Terri Baldwin and three children were there to enjoy cake and ice cream and reminisce with the family. Mrs. Less Elliott was in Salt Lake April 11, 1981 to attend a Performance of the Salt Lake Institute concert Choir where her granddaughter Jill Olsen sang a solo with the choir. Jill is the daughter of Betty Olsen. The concert was in Symphony Hall. Tess said she was real proud of her granddaughter and that she sang the solo beautifully. Easter weekend guests at the home of Ellaleen Cartwright was her son and family Brent and Gerri Cartwright, ReNae, Angela, Gina, Tralene, Karla and Roseanne and Gerre's parents Mr. and Mrs. Grant and Hannabel Helen Ashworth called Beth Morgan yesterday to tell her how happy she was when her husband Gerald Ashworth had been sustained as counselor in the Bishopric in the 71st Ward in the B.Y.U. Toquerville, Utah is certainly a beautiful clean place with the roses, Iris, Snowball's and other flowers in bloom. We spent Sunday visiting with Wayne and Barbara Russ. We went as far as Enoch and were joined by Bruce' and Zelda Burns. We motored to Toquerville to see Wayne and Barbara's new home and have dinner. Golda Murray, Jack Waters, Ellaleen Cartwright and Myrtle Waters were in Las Vegas recently to attend the wedding and reception for their grandson and nephew Richard Lee Waters and Beverly Ann Bott, son of Lee and Velva Waters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Joseph Bott of Las Vegas. The reception was held in the Ridgemont Club House in Las Vegas. Lee has recently had a heart attack and is recovering nicely. Warren and Vera Waters, Golda Murray and Laurel Fotheringham visited their sister Ellaleen Cartwright and attended the funeral for Ike Hofheins. Karl Paice, son of Ray and Pat Paice of Jackpot, Nevada visited his great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Paice Wednesday and Thursday, April 22 and 23, 1981 before going to Guam. These students are divided into two sections and are taught by three teachers. Mr. Howard White teaches one section and Mr. Dan F. Joseph teaches one section half day and Mrs. 11a Smith teaches them the other half day. When these students go to Beaver High School this fall, they will be the largest group Belknap has sent for a number" of years and the beginning of larger groups to follow each year. Ila was born in Payson, Utah. She moved to Beaver with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James G. Williams on her third birthday in 1946. She received her schooling at Belknap Elementary and Beaver High School. During high school, she was a student council member, yearbook editor, member of the Beaver Bee Staff and the She took an active part in senior band and chorus. Ila attended S.U.S.C. and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Fine Arts. She started her teaching career at Belknap working in the primary grades. When her family started to come she dropped out of teaching to work full time as a wife and mother. Now that her youngest child is in school, she is happy to be back working in the profession and enjoying her 6th grade assignment. In her duties, Ila is active in her church and is presently advisor serving as in the Beaver 4th Ward. She likes cake decorating, cooking, sewing, gardening and camping. Her favorite times are those spent with her husband Val and their four daughters. Mr. White has a rich and varied background that he brings to the field of education. After high school, he served an LDS Mission to Southern California and then served in the armed forces in WW II in the European theater. He has worked in the mercantile business and farming. He served as clerk treasurer for Beaver City and as a Business Manager for LDS Church properties in Mia-Mai- d Hawaii.
