A :T YOUR Services Held For Owen W. Johnson Funeral were held Idaho, for Owen W. "Hook" Johnson former resident of Tremonton. Mr. Johnson was employed at the Utah Power and Light Company in Tremonton until 1944, when he was transferred to Montpelier. Mr. Johnson was electocuted when he accidentally came in contact with an 11,000 volt circuit Thursday evening, at the Montpelier Substation. Mr. Johnson was a son of J. and Jane Whitehead Johnson, and was bom October 11. 19U in Richmond. He married Hazel Innes in October 1935. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Mary Jane, Montpelier, a brother H. Guy Johnson, Tremonton; five sisters, Mrs. Clifford Stoddard and Eunice, Salt Lake; Mrs. Wiliam Beastey, San Francisco; Mrs. F. B. Kindred; Tooele, snd Mrs. Reuben Anderson, Richmond. Utah Thursday August 25, Elder Henry D. Moyle of the Quorum of the Twelve and Elder Lorenzo H. Hatch of the General Welfare Committee have been assigned to attend the quarter ly conference of the Bear River Stake this weekend. The stake priesthood leader ship meeting, generally held at 8. p. m. on Saturday night will begin this Saturday at 6:30 having been moved ahead to allow time for some films to be shown In the welfare session of the conference. That meeting is scheduled for 8 p. m. "The Lord's Way" and "Welfare in Action", two splendid films which have been produced under the direct ion of the Church welfare committee will be shown. Anyone in the stake who desir.es to attend will be welcome. The regular sessions on Sunday will be held at 10 a. m. and 2 p. m. It has been announced by stake officials that attendance credit for conference session will be given boys and girls toward their individual awards . This credit will be the same as for Sunday School and Sacrament meeting. Portage Man Dies oi Heart Ailment Funeral services were con ducted at the Portage ward Tuesday afternoon- - for Weckford Hoskins, 69 who died Saturday afternoon at the hospital in Tremonton. He had suffered a heart attack. Students may also signs up for lockers these two night. The Board of Education has ordered 100 additional new lockers to be placed in the Science Building. These additional lockers should enable every student to get one, in as much as about 700 will now be available. Juniors and Seniors should be at the high school Wednesday evening, August 31st, from 7:00 to 9:00 o'clock. Freshies and Sophomores will attend the evening ol Thursday, September 1st, between the hours of 7:00 and 9:00. Crowded conditions are predicted again as a result of the final check up on last springs registration. Over 700 boys and girls have already registered Boys and girls of high school age who have moved into the Valley since last spring may register any day next week between 9:00 a. m. and 2:00 p. m. at the high school where Miss Lola Johnson, registrar and secretary, has her office. Those students who have been notified of class conflicts, and those planning "office practice", together with those taking parlimentary procedure are also advised to check with Miss Johnson next week. Hugh Davis and his staff will receive fees and dues these evenings. The student body activity fees are the same as they have been for many years $5.00. These fees entitle the student to a ts student body card which him to attend all league football, basketball, baseball, track and other league athletic contests.
