He spoke of the courage of young men like Veloid and the servit.3 they have given to their country. A violin solo entitled, "One Fleeting Hour," was played by Valeea Crowther accompanied by Mrs. Walker at the piano. James Walton was the next speaker. He also referred to the courage of this young man on the battlefront. He also read a citation Veloid had earned and had been presented by his commanding officer. William Roberts then reminded the people of the fine work done by this family in the church and the award one of the Smith boys had earned through church activity. He mentioned that Veloid had expressed a desire to go on a mission and spoke of the greater mission he would now be able to do. The choir sang, "I know that My Redeemer Lives," as a closing number and the prayer was offered by Ed Heslop. The grave in Riverview cemetery was dedicated by George King. A salute was fired by some of Veloid's buddies and taps and an echo of taps were played by Ed Heslop and Joyce Fredrickson. Emfl Anderson presented the flag to Mrs. Smith. Veloid was born. December 19, 1925 in Garland, a son of James 5. and Rebecca King Smith. They came to Tremonton when Veloid was one year old and have lived here since that time. Surviving are his parents and ten brothers and sisters: Mrs. Marie Peeples of Brigham and the following of Tremonton: Vernon J., Leslie K., Orlin H., Thomas E., Paul M David O., Theral F., Jul'e Ann and Emma Lee Smith; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E.
