By Robert Deputy j First last All students and patrons of the Bear River valley are invited to attend the outstanding art exhibit on display at the Bear River high school library and cafeteria. This exhibit featuring Utah artists will be open to the public Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 8:00 to 9:00 p. m. during the next two weeks. Among the paintings being shown are "Guadalcanal" and "Snow Scene", by Rosenbaum, who was born and reared in Brig-haCity, "Landscape", by A. B. Wright, who has just returned with his family from Europe where he spent his time during the war, Michael Cannon's "Still Life Studies", and "California Desert Scene", by" Louis Heinzman, formally from Germany, but who is now stationed at Fort Douglas with the U. S. Army. This exhibit comes through the courtesy of the "Alice Merrell Home Gallery" in Salt Lake City and features primarily the works of Utah artists. The pictures are for sale, and the high school intends to buy two or three of the pictures selected as favorites by those who visit the collection. This exhibit, which is to be an annual affair, is free to the annual senior play the last part of April, class officers announced today. The class is planning to present a three act mystery-comedbut as yet the final selection has not been made. Class officers Dale Gardner, Ruby Davis and Luana Tingey state that they have written to Row Peterson company for readings of the plays "Bogeyman" by Edwin S. Day, "Ghost Wanted" by Guernsey Le Pelley, "Are You Mr. Butterworth?" - by Felicia Metcalfe, "Suspense" by Glenn Hughes and "Black Wings" by Charlotte Eldridge. "Final selection of the play will be made by Milton Johnson, who has consented to direct the play , states Ruby Davis, vice president or Bear River high school's an nual Junior Promenade, which will be held March 22, 1946, at 8:30 p. m. in the local gymnasium. Committee chairmen supervising various phases of the prom are Shirley Maughn, general chairman; LuDeane Hunsaker, decoration chairman; leNae Marble, as sembly; Lorna Schuman, floor show; Sharon Halse, refreshments; Holhs Johnson, financial affairs; Helen Hansen, programs. Helping to supervise the work are faculty advisors Virginia Udy and LeRoy Bunnell and class officers, Robert Roberts, Peggy Al- en and Roma Jean Hill. Lovely decorations are being made to artistically carry out the unique theme; however, details of the work are being kept secret until the dance begins. An outstanding floor-shohas been planned and an excellent or chestra selected. Parents and friends of the school are cordially invited to attend this annual social highlight. ITHE BEAR RIVER VALLEY LEADER Mrs. L. R. Shaffer, Vern fer and son, Bob, were in Salt Lake City, Thursday on business. They stayed over to attend the basketball tournament. Mr. and Mrs. Palmer De Long and son, Robert, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, came to the David Larson home Sunday where Mrs. De Long and Robert will remain for a visit. Mr. De Long returned Monday. Mr. and Mrs. David Larson visited with relatives in Logan Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Grover and Mrs. Mort Riser and children motored to Hyrum Sunday where they visited with Mr. G rover's brother, Mr. Enoch Grover. Mrs. Sophia Larson was a guest of honor at a family dinner at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. M. Holman. Guests were Mrs. May Bjorklund, her son, Carl and wife and two children of Ogden; Mrs. Gus Larson and Gordon; Ralph and Elaine Holman and Ned Jackson of Logan. She received many beautiful gifts from members of her family. Tuesday she was the guest of the Relief Society, the organization she presided over for 2b years. A program was given which consisited of two numbers by the ladies trio, Ardes Adams, Hazel Riser and La Vona Grover; a tribute by Ida Rhodes and Ella Grover; a reading by Essie Peterson. Mrs. Ellen Rhodes and Ida Rhodes were also honored at the gathering, it being their birthdays also. Ice cream and cake were served. The centerpiece consisted of a beautiful potted plant received by Mrs. Larson as a birthday gift. Games were played. The Fielding M. I.
