Mr. and Mrs. James Peterson accompanied their grandchildren to their homes in Layton and Salt Lake on Saturday. Whiile there they visited Mr. and- Mrs. Vernon Bodily of Layton and Mrs. Grant Holton of Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Newman, Dwayne and Merle Newman were the inner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Peterson at Honeyville, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. James Wight and Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Zollinger attended Sunday School and Sacrament meeting at Park Valley on Sunday. Following the meeting the local and visiting Seventies and their partners enjoyed a luncheon and social. Mr. and Mrs. Wight spent some time visiting Mr. and Mrs. Duard Palmer. The ladies are cousins and came here together some years ago from their homes in Australia. The Monthly work and business meeting of the Relief Society was held Tuesday. The time was spent quilting. Pie and ice cream was served by Mary Newman and Pos- ella Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Roy C. Anderson had as their guests Friday, Bishop and Mrs. Albeit Mitchell and daughter, Iona, of Clinton, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Oberhansley of Salt Lake. The case in Utah County resulted fatally the patient was ill only 9 days with the disease Salt Lake City reported 3 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis. A total of 6 cases of rheumatic fever was reported for the week. The total number of communicable diseases for the week was 227 the smallest number to be reported for any week in 1944. Twelve cases of malaria fever were reported from army hospitals. It is encouraging to note that no cases of poliomyelitis nor typhoid fever were reported. The report indicates that the health of the citizens is exceptionally good. The totals for the week were as follows: chickenpox, 44; measles, 30; German measles, 8; scarlet fever, 15; mumps, 37; Rocky Mountain spotted fever, 3; tuberculosis, 3; whooping cough, 62; magonorrhea, 15; syphilis, 18; laria fever, 12, and rheumatic fever, 6.
