Mildred Harris and Mrs. Foxley were the hostesses. Miss Margaret Woodside and Donna Selley were guests of the meeting. They with 19 members were present to hear Miss Woodside review "Burma Surgeon," by Gordon S. Seagiave. The group nominated the officers who will be elected at the next meeting, which will be held on March 3rd at the Utah Power & Light auditorium wiUi Fem Kirk-haas hostess. MR. BROUGH HONORED The O. L. Brough family were Sunday visitors in Hyrum at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Owen H. Hall. Mrs. Hall, who is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brough served a birthday dinner in honor of Mr. Brough and his grandson. w. s. c. s. ENTERTAINED The W. S. C. S. met at the N. E. Shaw home on Tuesday and Mis3 Ada Duhigg, who is superintendent of the Highland Communpreity House.in Bingham County,Comsented the program. The munity House is sponsored by the Home Missionary program which is a national organization. Some of the young people from the House were present and helped with the program. Mrs. N. E. Shaw entertained Monday night at a waffle supper in honor of the first wedding anniversary of her niece, Mrs. Nellie May Chinn. Guests presented her with appropriate gifts for her paper anniversary. Mrs. Ferris Allen was a Salt Lake visitor Saturday. Mr. an Mrs. Pete Meister recently arrived home from California, where they have been visiting Members of their family. m Mrs. E. D. Sargent returned Saturday from a trip to Portland. Lhe took her small grandson who has been visiting here this winter, tack with her, and he remained ith his parents. MRS. JOHNSON HONORED Mrs. J. H. Fronk and Mrs. David R. Waldron entertained at the Waidron home recently in honor of Mrs. Owen W. Johnson, who is moving to Montpelier, Idaho. Bridge followed dinner, and Mrs. E. R. Winzeler and Mrs. Eddie Krey were the winners of the evening. BUYING TRIP SUCCESSFUL Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ashe raft returned home Monday from a weeks buying trip in Los Angeles. Mr. Auhcraft says that they had a fine trip and were able to get a lot of nice merchandise. Dr. and Mrs. R. G. Woodhead, Mr. and Mrs. Wood row Selley and Mr and Mrs. Wes Gephart spent Monday and Tuesday in Salt Lake. -- Ladean Earl and Russell Mitton spent Sunday in Brigham visiting with Mr. and Mrs. H. K. Mifflin. J. F. F. CLUB MEETS The J. F. F. Club held a business meeting Wednesday at the home of Jean Rose. After all the business was completed, refreshments were served and the group enjoyed sewing and chatting. WINNER ANNOUNCED The Bear River high school junior class activity to raise funds for their annual Prom came to a close last Wednesday evening when the drawing gave the Sweetheart quilt to Boyce Last as first winner, and the yarn dogs to Walter Sutherland and Jimmy DeLong for second and third prizes. Mr. TOWN CLUB MEETS The Town Club meet Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. J. H. Fronk. Dinner was served to bers and Mrs. Alma Theurer, who was a special guest. Prizes were won by Mrs. F. M Christensen and Mrs. Theurer. Mrs. Ed Fronk entertained 19 small guests Saturday in honor of her son, Kenneth's fourth birthday. Refreshments were served, and the young people spent the afternoon in games. ( W. W. Seniors who have taken band for four years and attend the clinic at Idaho will receive a sweater with a lyre and school emblem on it. Students who have taken. band four years but do not attend the clinic will receive the lyre and emblem to sew on a sweater of his own. Members who have not taken band four years, but attend the clinic, will also receive the lyre and emblem. The band is planning a spring concert and the proceeds will be used to pay for the sweaters and emblems. This project is being carried into effect for the purpose of stimulating interest and competition in band. MARVIN BARFUSS ENTERTAINED Friends and relatives entertained in honor of 1st Petty Officer Marvin Barfuss at the John O. Barfuss home on Wednesday evening. The 45 guests present enjoyed a nice luncheon and then joined in table games, the old folks playing Bingo and the young people entering into a snappy game of Pit. The leaders were Miss Stohler and Miss Wright, both Tremonton school teachers. They voted by secret ballot, and the following officers were elected: president, Beverly Jean Rohde; vice president, Rita Fae Stohl; secretary, Deann Bone; treasurer, Marilyn Stohl, and reporter, Leola Koford. Other officers will be elected when further organized. We urge all girls who wish to become a Scout to get in touch with some of the leaders, officers, or other Girl Scouts. HEART CLUB HOLDS PARTY The Heart Club held their annual party February 14 th in the Methodist Church parlor. The committee for arrangements consisted of Mrs. Jules Stephen, Mrs. Mar- guerite Rich, Mrs. Grace Vance, and Mrs. N. E. Shaw. A nice program included music presented by Mrs. Lucille Wyatt and Mrs. R. F. Goff , and readings by Mrs. Rich. Refreshments were served.
