Reporting: All cases of scarlet fever shall be reported to the local health officer within 24 hours from the time the diagnosis is made. 2. Isolation: Patient must be isolated for a period of 21 days from date of onset and until all discharges from running ears or other body lesions have cleared up. 3, Concurrent disinfection: Of all articles soiled with discharges from the nose and throat of the patient. 4. Quarantine: (a) All members bers of the family must be placed under quarantine and the premr: ises placarded, (b) If adequate isolation of the patient is maintained, the may be premitted by local health officer to conduct his business providing he is not a and providing his work does not bring him into contact with children, (c) Exposed members of the family may be released from quarantine providing they have remained in isolation for a period of 7 days in another residence where there are no children and providing they do not develop the disease within that time. After release they may not return to the quarantine premises, (d) No student may be admitted to school until 7 days have elapsed since date of last exposure to a recognized case. Culture media for scarlet fever patients will be furnished gratis by the laboratory of thhe State Department of Health upon request from physicians. "We wish the emphasize that under the law parents are required to report to the local health officer any suspected cases of scarlet fever which may develop in their family," states William M. McKay. Mayor, state director of the War Manpower Commission for Utah, said today. Mr. Mayer said that although request for such designation originated ftom the Utah Lumber Dealers' Associationall dealers in the affected counties were intended to be covered by the order. All dealers are reported to be week and operating on a paying higher than the minimum established for the area. Full utilization of all the available manpower is being made and 80 to 90 per cent of the total volume of business is directed to the war effort on a priority basis.
