Pack, USNR, 23, of Snowville, will complete the indoctrination course at the Naval Training school at Tucson, Arizona, on August 12, graduating with the ninth battalion to leave the school since it was organized, the Eleventh Naval District announced today. The course covers 60 days of intensive study in such subjects as navigation, ordnance, seamanship, and naval administration, edsupplemented with a physical to give ucation program designed the young officers rugged bodies as well as alert minds. Drill in marching, gunnery, and other fundamentals, is also included. A graduate of Utah State Agricultural college with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degree in 1943, Ensign Pack was a student at that school when he received his commission in May, 1942. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Pack of Snowville. Miller, of East Garland, is now attending Yale University in New Haven, Conn., where he will be studying the Russian language for the next nine months. It is interesting to learn that the Reverend Abraham Pier-soone of Dale's ancestors, was one of ten ministers of the colony of Connecticut who established this school in 1701. It was then loocat-e- d at Saybrook but removed to New Haven in 1716. Reverend Pierson waa born at South Hampton, Long Island in 1645 and died in 1706. Dale has noted with interest that a large monument of his ancestor now stands on the campus. Mr. Andreason is one of the oldest residents of the valley, having moved to Bear River City with his parents in 1869. He married Carrie O. Anderson November 30, 1887, and they were blessed with ten children, nine of whom are still living, with 57 grandchildren and 17 He left his wife and five children in 1899 to fill a two year mission in Denmark.
