The boys make about ten cents per hour for their time and effort. These boys are becoming discouraged with their job. They are not receiving any cooperation from many people they collect from. These boys will not collect paper in the future unless it is neatly piled or boxed and ready for them when they call. They will call at the business houses on Monday and Thursday of each week. The paper collected at 'private homes will be collected only when a call is made to one of the Scout Masters, Mel Hamilton, Ed Wichester, Merwin Christensen. Halverson of the Box Elder Civilian Defense Council has received word from the Utah State Defense Council at Salt Lake City that arrangements have been completed to hold a school for defense training in Box Elder county at Brigham City in Room 302, high school, beginning Tuesday evening, April 21, at 7:30 p. m. and carrying through Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week and, if necessary, through the following week The instructors will be experts in their line, some of whom are loaned to the defense effort by the U. S. Army. All registrants in the Box Elder unit have been notified of the meeting and it is expected that a full attendance will be on hand each night during these sessions. The war situation is extremely critical and it is felt that the urgency of the occasion is" great and that in the interest of the protecion of homes and even the lives of our citizens, all should be interested in the movement Undoubtedly when the summer season approaches incendiary bombing by enemy planes will be the rule and not the exception. It is hoped all citizens will be alive to the seriousness of the situation. n, Papers to Assist fn War Effort Mrs. Wesley Gephart entertained I School To Be Held Scouts Gathering her Bridge club Wednesday night at Phone 114 J . ? .'
