A 100 per cent enrollment in a school district as large as Box Elder county is a distinct honor to the district The American Junior Red Cross is a division of membership of the Amer ican Red Cross. It is the American Red Cross in the schools. A pupil becomes a member of the American Junior Red Cross through group enrollment The enrollment qualifies each member of the group aa an individual member to receive the Junior Red Cross button and have his name listed on the membership rolls. Each classroom enrolling receives an Activities Calendar with a program of physical and mental fitness for meeting social responsibility. ' A monthly Junior Red Cross news magazine is also sent to each classroom. The magazines keep pupils and teachers Informed of the activities of their organization everywhere. They contain articles and stories of value in building good social attitudes and developing national and international participation in Junior Red Cross activities. The central theme of the Junior Red Cross for the school year 1942 is "Citizenship Training for Internal Defense," with special emphasis given to those activities which will build ideals and attitudes of "Social Res ponsibility" in youth. This year as never before we find the American Junior Red Cross marching side by side with the education profession, confident that the light of American freedom shall ever shine bright as the beacon of hope for the world.
