Charles Roberts returned home Wednesday with a normal temperature, a side free of drainage and an assurance from good feeling that he could go about in a more or less normal life again. He was operated on July 24, 1938 for a ruptured appendix. After about three weeks he developed a septicemia or blood poisoning and has been confined to the hospital, save for two short transients spells of recovery, when he returned home only to get worse and return to the hospital. In January, his septecemia localiz ed in the right plural cavity and an other operation was performed in which a piece of rib was removed and more that two quarts of pus was drained from around his right lung. Mr. Roberts' condition was very serious at four different times. But with a lot of native resistance, built up by good habits, and with the aid of oxygen, medication and six blood transfusions, and an omnipotent power he went home grateful for his recovery and also to his many friends who have ben so anxious of his condition end who so liberally contributed of their time and money for his financial assistance. He wishes us to express his thanks for these expres sions of real interest in behalf of his family and his recovery.
