The modernized preparation plant is now working at near capacity, producing washed, dried, sized, blended and waxed coal in answer to the public's demand for "cleaner coal" For a number of years similar coal preparation plants have been in operation in eastern, and northwestern sections of the nation, but the United States Fuel's modernized plant is the first of the kind in the Utah field, it was announced by the management. The capacity of the modernized hour plant is 300 tons of coal per comfor domestic, industrial and mercial use. All coal is screened over the newest type of equipment which gives unusually clean separation ai between sizes. The plant is especially designed to produce a uniformly-size- d product day in and day out. And, in the case of slack sizes, the fine coal is entirely separated from the coarse coal and then as required, making it possible to give the consumer a uniform percentage of fine coal in each and every car of slack coal shipped from the plant. To further assure the public of a coal, the plant is being equipped to wax all sizes. Waxing is the application of a thin film of wax to the coal. It is now extensively used on eastern and coals, providing with the added feature of cleanliness, in that it congeals, does not tend to soak through burlap sacks, nor even through paper bags. It is anticipated that the coal tonnage at this mine and tipple plant will be the greatest in yean, resulting in "prosperous times" for this community in Carbon County, the heart of Utah's coal fields. clean-handli- mid-weste- rn dust-proofi- Quite a few sportsmen enjoyed the deer hunt.
