Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Hansen and daughter, Lois, returned from California Saturday, after spending the winter enjoying the beautiful sights of California. They reached home just in time to attend the party given by Mr. and Mrs. K. H. Fridal in honor of their son, Max, who recently returned from a mission. Others from here that enjcyexl the party were : Bishop and Mrs. Hansen and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Fridal and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hansen, and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Casper Andreason and family attended the funeral of Mrs. Willard Anderson at Bear River City Sunday. Mrs. Anderson was a sister of Mrs. Andreasen. Other relatives frcm here also attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vander Hide and baby, of Ogden, were guests of Mrs. Mortensen last week. Also Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt and children of Logan visited her last week. Mrs. Ingeborg Petersen, of Oregon, visited with the Petersen families here over the weekend. Mrs. Rhea Christensen and Mrs. Lillian Rasmussen has been substitut ing for the school teachers, Mr. Leonard and Miss Anderson who have colds and are wondering if it will develop into mumps, as "quite a few children have been exposed and some families have them now. Al Nielsen went to Warren Sunday to visit his parents and relatives. Rhoda Christensen spent last week visiting her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson, at Lewiston. The Relief Society is busy preparing for a big time on Friday, March 18. A one-aplay will be presented and others stunts will be given. The program will commence at 8 o'clock sharp. After the program there will be a dance to which all Over Mutual age are admitted. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hunsaker and son, Reginald, went to Sugar City last week to visit their daughter, Bishop and Mrs. Marion Murdock and the new grandchild. Mrs. Jess Sims . accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Bard Bailey, of Thatcher, to Salt Lake City and Ogden Wednesday, where they visited Mrs. Sims' mother, Mrs. May Marsh of Tremonton, who is in the Dee Hospital, convalescing from a major operation. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wilford Miller accompanied Mr. and Mrs. William M. Miller to Brigham Monday, where Mrs. William Miller went to Ogden to go under an operation on her eye at the Dee Hospital. Mrs. Miller, who is known here as "Grandma Miller" has the interest of all the ward and we're hoping for a speedy recovery. Mrs. Fred W. Petersen was a Salt Lake City visitor March 5. M. I. A. members enjoyed the stake party Saturday evening. The Relief Society is celebrating the founding of their society today (Thursday). There is to be a banquet at 7:30 for the married people of the ward, followed by a program, includplay, skit, etc., and a ing a one-adance to conclude the evening. PENROSE Mrs. Birdie Petersen. Mrs. Vernal Bailey returned Thursday from a week's visit with her parents at American Falls, Idaho. On Friday, Morgan Miller narrowly escaped death when the tugs of the harness on a team of horses gave way and threw Mr. Miller out and dislocated his left shoulder. Although he is in great pain and it will be quite a while before he will be able to get around, he is doing as well as can be expected. Mr. Miller is the Sunday I School superintendent, and the accident happened on his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Petersen were in Brigham City Sunday to see Mrs. Petersen's mother, who after attending meeting in the Sixth Ward, March 6, fell and dislocated her right shoulder. This is the second time she has had this misfortune. Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nelson had as their guests Sunday of last week Mrs. Frank Muir and son, Allen Blain, of Huntsville, and Leland and Larue Whitaker of Ogden, nephews of Mrs. Nelson and Mrs. Muir. They also vis ited with Mrs. G. L. Miller. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Miller and William M. Miller were in Ogden and Brigham City Thursday, where C. E.
