NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting held on the 20th day of Oct. 1937, an assessment of $5.00 per tap was levied, payable on the 28th day of Oct. 1937, at the home of the treasurer, Moroni Arbon. A delegation representing the completion of the War Memorial Home on East Forest St., Brigham City, with Lloyd Reese as spokesman, met with the commissioners Mr. Reese in commenting upon the completion of the home, was asked by the commissioners if he had investigated the approximate cost of said War Memorial Home, whereupon Mr. Reese stated that he had procured estimates as follows: plumbing and fixtures, heating plant, completion of carpentry work, painting and plastering, lighting fixtures, totaling approximately $3,000. Mr. Reese presented a petition which was signed by Brigham City clubs and a letter from American Legion Post No. 76 seeking county aid. P. J. Koford made the statements that he would recommend to the city officials of Brigham that Brigham City assume one half of the cost of completion, if Box Elder county would assume the other half. Whereupon, Commissioner Dewey asked Spokesman Reese what portion of the three thousand dollars the American Legion and VFW proposed to assume.
