Frver. 72. farmer and resi dent of Deweyville for more than 60 years, died at the .Valley Hospital Tuesday morning following an illness of several months which became acute Sunday when he was taken to the Tiospital, heart failure was given as the immediate cause of his death. The deceased was born at Lehi, Utah, November 7th, 1861 and came to Deweyville when but a boy of ten years. He married Mary Larson who died some forty years ago, the deceased never marrying again. His principal occupation has been farming He is survived by the following sons and daughters: John A. and Mary R. of Deweyville and Wm. J., of Preston, Idaho, and three brothers, all of Collinston. Most Important of all is the ta&k of the "Peach Squad", whose duty it is to go into the orchards and gather the selected fruit to be given away to the visitors on both days and to le used in the exhibit booths. These are being gathered from trees marked earlier in the season. A supply will also be held for those who will come to take back home with them enough for canning for their own home. This will elimi- nate the necessity of hunting through the orchards by those who do not have the time to do it. Responses from clubs and organizations and firms in the County and in adjoining counties augur well for a surpassingly beautiful and artistic street parade each morning at eleven o'clock. Band concerts and examinar tiori of the exhibits arid flower show will feature the morning programs before that time. The parade will traverse Main Street from South to North and countermarch. Immediately after the lunch period hundreds of bushels of free peaches and free watermelons will be dispensed at Pioneer Park. Continuous band music by alternating bands will accompany the distribution. Featuring the afternoon schedule will be the showing of a premier Rodeo-rac- e program in the arena of Pioneer Park, Everret Colburn will direct a thrilling show of contests between vicious buckers and the West's best riders, both saddle and bareback, as well as bulldogging, calf roping, trick roping, exhibition riding and funny in Salt Lake City, October 8 to 10, according to Manager Ernest S. Holmes. The manner in which he came to his death was also related, showing that it was in the service of his fellow men. He, with other companions, had voforest lunteered their service fires. Upon arriving at the scene they were ordered to return for equipment and in turning the truck around, in which they were riding, the driver lost control of same and it rolled over an embankment, crushing Mr. Homer beneath it. He died 45 minutes later on the way to the hospital. Bishop Walton, who fought side by side with the deceased in the World War, read from a regimental history a description of the battle in which Mr. Homer was wounded and told of how he aided the wounded Colonel of e the regiment and how this same arid Mr. Homer had met again in of the Caljfnii" and upon learning death of his valiant soldier whos being shipped home for burial, the Colonel wired ahead and had the train stop while the casket was drapped with a beautiful flag presented by him. These soldiers were under the command of Commander LaMont Grover, of the Legion Post.
