Clifford, son of Mrs. Beth Tolman, who has been seriously ill and confined to his home for more than two months, is now well on the road to recovery. Mrs. Harvey Miller, of - Elwood, gave birth to a girl baby at the Valley hospital, on Monday. Roy, son of John Glenn, who has been a patient at the Valley hospital for six weeks, will be able to return home on Sunday but will probably be unable to leave his bed for the next six weeks. It will be recalled that he was injured some weeks ago, while skylarking in an automobile, on the highway in front of the high school, when the car overturned and he sustained a broken thigh and pelvic bone. LeRoy Bishop, while practicing in the ball park, Monday, stepped into a hole, wrenching his leg and sustaining a dislocation of the knee cap. It's hard to keep a good man down, however, and he was around town Wednesday as chipper as usual. Mrs. Israel Fackerall, of Howell, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Nephi Nessen, gave birth to a fine baby girl last Sundav. A baby girl is listed as the latest arrival at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mohr, of Elwood. Mrs. Katie Johnson has returned from a vacation which she spent vsiiting friends and relatives in Bountiful and Salt Lake City. Otto iSchenkel, who has been very ill for the last two weeks, is convalescing and is reported as making rapid progress toward recovery. Fred Gephart has "returned from a y trip to Roosevelt in connection with business of one of the Gephart chain of stores, which is maintained there by the Genhart Stores Co. Herman Landvatter and his family have returned from a visit to their old home in Sabatha, Kan. They report having had a delightful time. Miss Mabel Calderwood entertained the club at her home, Friday, June 13. Mrs. VVm. Muir gave a very interestnig talk on preparing a well balanced breakfast and its value. Mr. and Mrs. George Hunsaker and daughters, Lauana, Madge and Nola and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dustman of Honeyville were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Rauber on Sunday. Miss Phyllis Nelson returned to her home in Smithfield, after spending the past two weeks with her cousin, Alice Crockett. Miss Phyllis Bates was pleasantly surprised at her home Wednesday evening by her friends. Those present were: Mae Brenkman, Dora Brough, Lydia Meister, Phyllis Nelson, Kather-in- e Davis, Gloria Dalton, Alice Crockett, Josephine Wadsworth, Floy Holmgren, Margaret Pack, Wesley Land vatter, E. J. Holmgren, Cole Winzeler, Wayne Capener, Theodore Limb, and Douglas Holmgren. Refresments were served and the evening was spent in playing games. Miss Kathenne Davis of Provo, Utah, returned to her home after spending the past two weeks with Gloria Dalton. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Cook spent a few hours Wednesday with Mrs. Cook's mother, Mrs. Alice Osmond, at Salt Lake. Mrs. Osmond and daughter, Miss Iona Osmond, are leaving for San Francisco, Saturday for New York via Panama Canal.
