Show BEAR RIVER VALLEY LEADER, THURSDAY, JUNE 27, 1929 Garland Personals Continued from page one.) At the last regular meeting of the Lions Club of Garland the following members of the Utah State Firemens' Association, were special guests. Chief W. S. Knight, of Salt Lake City Fire Department, H. E. Anderson, Sec. of the State association, Rulon, Simpson, treasurer of the State association, and George H. Jensen, state organizer. These men were introduced by Lion President, John J. Shumway. Each of the visitors spoke giving his views on the necessity of organization of a fire fighting crew in smaller towns and cities, in order to get the best results. Men who are drilled to know what to do with the things they have to work with are much more efficient in their work than those who are not. Efficiency comes from organization and team work. The city should have such an organization in order to not waste time and energy. It was decided that a committee appointed by the president of the Lions' Club, meet with the City Council, for the purpose of effecting such an organization and that the president choose this committee and report at the next meeting.
