The American motoring public will see Oldsmobile's new 1950 Futuramic fleet for the first time early in January, Mr Skinner said. Oldsmobile's 3800 dealers are completing plans now for local introduction & the presentation of complete details through newspaper advertising. "Oldsmobile has never had more widespread public acceptance," said Mr Skinner. "The deOldsmo-bile- s mand for Futuramic continues strong with the result that a minimum production of 350,000 sixes & eights has been scheduled for 1950." Oldsmobile's chief executive predicted gbod business for the coming year & based this prediction on continued high employment & spending as well as a strong desire on the part of the public for new & better things in life. AW lot CSNTM ST. SUmjIf According to Henry W Hicock, head of the Connecticut station's forestry department, use of water glass wil prevent or greatly retard flame spread. Best results were given in station tests when a mixture containing 9 parts of water glass (soluble sodium silicate) & one part of water, containins a teasDoonful bf wetting agent per quart, was used, une of the common household detergents makes an excellent wetting agent. The mixture may be applied by dipping the tree in it or spraying" it onto the tree. Water glass will cause no damage in the color of the needles but will give a shiny, translucent finish to the foliage. Best results are obtained if the tree is kept standing in water following treatment. Other chemical treatments which are applied internally by standing the tree in the solution & letting it absorb the material, have been found unsatisfac tory. The method often displaces water in greater volume than the solution entering the tree. Thus an excellent fire protection Wedding water, is lost & otten a tree is Cakes more combustible after treatment than before. Such treat- Cookies Pies ments also often result in needle discoloration & needle fall. In SPECIAL addition, Mr Hicock points out, most trees have been cut for such a long time before being Home-mad- e purchased that this method will not work. .n '' Aro Sweet Mix 22 ox PICKLES mem vv hiik rL IT :f 1 heinz ricKies 01 xj .Festive foods are as much a part of Christmas as holly wreaths and mistletoe.
