Show The Beaver Press Thursday, August 23, 1979 Sunday Services Dining Out In Beaver BEAVER FOURTH WARD By Ellen If you have never been to the Baury in Cedar City for lunch you've missed a real treat. All sandwiches were with a salad from the do it yourself bar. French fries are fresh and not cooked ahead of time and reheat- ed. Coffee is very good and is served in large mugs. I had a Rueben sandwich that was literally stuffed with pastrami. It also had kraut, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce on it. They'll make it without the kraut if you prefer it that way. There is plenty of parking in the back and the service is good and friendly. Prices for dinner are also very reasonable. Vickie Waters, president, held ust . a short business meeting and introduced Ron Forrest, speaker for the meeting. Mr. Forrest is a geologist with Phillip's Petroleum. An excellent talk illustrated with colored slides outlined the direction, progress, potential and goals of Phillips involvement in energy in our county. Lunch was served on the lawn following the presentation. Fried chicken potatoe salad, green salad, rolls, deviled eggs, pie, and cold drinks enjoyed by approximately twenty five members and their guest speaker, Mr. Forrest. Following lunch a short film picturing problems and safety involved in energy usage. A trip to Rossevelt Hot Springs, McDonald's Opal pits, and one of well sites which the is now in a productive stage completed the day. If you are a B.P.W. member and are missing meetings perhaps this will let you know how much you are missing. Plan to be at future meetings. '. . MILFORD Karri and Maria Prodzinski recently attended a leadership camp at Mount Hollow in the Uintah Mountains. They learned how to talk to people and how to become a leader. Miharu Mizuno returned to her home in Japan Tuesday after staying with us for a month, While she was here we traveled to Salt Lake, we visited the Temple, Hogle Zoo. and "This Is Jhe Place" monument. Last week we took her to visit the Utah Parks (Bryce Canyon and Zions). Its funny last time we had a Japanese exchange student we visited Cedar Breaks for the first time there. Now three years later with another Japanese student we got to venture the nearby parks. This was also my first experience. I wonder where the student will need to come from when we go all the way to Grand Canyon. As we traveled through the many visitor parking areas... I began to understand how Miharu feels with all of us speaking English. We seem to be the only Utah car there, and many tour buses unloaded visitors who German, Italian and Spanish- - we were the only ones who could understand us. spoke-Frenc- Book Study Tuesdays 7:30 8:30, Glenda Mead's home, Bea ver.
