BOATS t, FISHING TACKLE & SUPPLIES My grandmother Ruth Tervort Bliss was born June 25, 1913 in POP & SNACKS Minersville Reservoir Grandmother Gates My grandmother, Jenice Robinson Gates, was born in Beaver, Utah, on February 23, 1913 to Mary Atkin and James Robinson. One of the homes where my grandmother lived as a small child was next to Jim Morgans old home, on the highway towards Minersville. When my grandmother was eleven years old, her father died of blood poisoning and then her mother, sisters ( and brother, Alice, Helen, Bud and Faye moved to her grandmother Atkin' s old home which had three rooms. She lived there until she was seventeen, then she married my grandfather, Edwin Delose Gates, in Richfield, Utah, She then made her home in Salina,Utahfor three After that my grandyears. parents moved to California. She has spent most of her life as a practical nurse, serving people for many years, but loved her work very much. She had three children, two boys and one girl e. who is my mother, Jeanette Tom Giesing, Prop. and stumbled over something. As she tried to raise up, she touched something furry and it let out a loud groan, which frightened her very much. It was black and very big, by then she decided it was a cow or a bull, but didn't stay around to find out any details. She just ran as fast as she could, and there were no more short cuts after that. We did the stories of "Boy and His Goats," "Cinder- ella, Rumpelstiltskin, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," "Three Little Pigs," "Gingerbread Boy", and "The Three Billy Goats Gruff". We invited our mothers and we served refreshments. They liked our shows. We studied about littering. We held a poster contest. Cam-il- le Lee won first place. Emmi Knapple, second; Grandmother Bliss Scott Stucki, and has taken many nice trips. She has traveled to most of the Western States. Last February she and grandpa went on the trip that they had been dreaming of formanyyears, ' they went to Hawaii. She has also been to Canada and Mexico. Her favorite holiday is Christmas, and her favorite foods are steak and pumpkin pie. The family was overjoyed when a baby sister, Diane, was born. After several years the mine started to go out of business so the family moved back to Payson to rear their growing family. She still has many fond memories of those years in Dividend. She has worked for Payson Cold Storage for many years.
