Cabine ts J REFINISIIING Designing and Estimates FREE: J& fiillwork UTAH MEADOW National Park Service report on visitors to Lake Powell during January lists fishing as the major attraction. Fishermen accounted for 737 visits followed by boater with 431 and picnickers with 239 visits. Beach use was zero during January. Apparently there are no hardy swimmers in the area, but 148 persons did participate in remote camping on the lake. The Division of Fish and Game lists fishing for bass and crap-p-ie poor in the Wahweap area, but several large trout have been caught. Bluegill and crappie fishing in the upper reaches of Lake Powell is very good to excellent. The brushy areas of shallower bays are producing the best catches. Water temperature is still too cold for the best bass fishing, but some nice bass are being taken by experienced anglers. Air temperature at the lake has been 58 degrees for the high, with a low of 31. Perhaps this the empty beaches explains during January. sioner Harris Minutes of Feb 5th Commission Meeting The Board of County Commisof Beaver County, Utah, met at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, sioners February 5, 1971 for their ular monthly meeting. reg- The minutes of the January 5, 1971 meeting were read and approved.
