Transportation was furnish ed by Ronald Bradshaw, Per shing Eriokson and Marvin Spendlove. Enroute to the camp, the group stopped at the fossil beds on Cedar Mountain and spent some time collecting prehist oric marine fossils. Camp was made that night by moonlight under some big Ponderosa pines. At sunrise on Saturday, the group started the nine-mil- e hike across the top of the West Rim and down into the heart of the canyon. It v agreed by the hikers that you J haven't seen Zion Canyon until you've seen it from the top. The group was separated into sheep and goats for the side trail out to Angel's landing. The goats led by Heber Gurr and Acle Gillies, braved the perils of a narrow trail with sheer drops on both sides while the sheep, led by Bishop Howard Bradshaw and Dan Joseph rested safely in the shade where the trail was ex tra wide Howard White, Louis Lessing, and Ronald Bradshaw and their boys were so far behind the rest of the group there wasn't time for them to make a sheep or goat decision. The . hike terminated with a swim in the Virgin River at about 2 p.m. Those who made the trip were Pershing and Jack Erick- son, Howard and Keith White, Louis and Hal Lessing, Ronald and Robin Bradshaw, Acle & Blake Gillies, Heber and Greg Gurr, Bishop Howard and Rog er Bradshaw, Dan and Derald Joseph, Russell Ross, Robert Wright, Randall and Kevin Lee Randy Davis, Sam Whatcott, Garth Bohn, Kevin Willden, and Marvin Spendlove.
