Several dogs in our neighborhood have died a terrible death during the past week or so. If that person is so mean that he must kill pets belonging to little children, why doesn't he be man enough to shoot them instead of letting them come home to die at the feet of the child like our pet did. Our dog was killed Friday another neighbor's afternoon, died yesterday and several others last yeek. If the poison is where a small dog can find it, what about the small children? Has it come to the point where we cannot let our children out to play in our own yard? When dozens of children play in a neighborhood each day as they do here across from the Belnap school can it be that someone is careless to the point that poison is available to them? Have you ever watched a small child and his dog? Sometimes the dog follows the child but more often the child follows the dog and it could lead that child to the poison bait. To some people a dog is just a dumb animal but, to us, and many other American families our dog or cat is as much a part of the family as the car or our home. No dog could be half as dumb and mean as the person who is doing this inhuman thing. I hope that the person who is doing this will think about it and stop before a child dies because of his work.
