Mrs. Kate Joseph were the winners. tess to the CLUBS Sewing Club was held at the home of Joann Grimshaw. Elizabeth Ritchie gave a demonstration on gift wrapping. The rest of the evening was spent in sewing sewing and visiting. A lovely luncheon was served to ten members. The Sunday Study group met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Poulson. The evening was spent reading from the 'Book Of Mormon" and visiting. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. The Better Homes Club met at the home of Ila Messinger on Wednesday evening. Margie Johnson was in charge of the program. She showed films on how to have outside living quarters. Many beautiful pictures were enjoyed by the 12 ladies who attended. Mrs. K. W. Taylor was a special guest. The Pinochle Club met at the home of Arlene Carter on Thursday evening. Janet Smith showed how to wrap beautiful Christmas packages. Karma Anderson brought many Christmas-idea-s for the ladies to see. Prizes were won by Janice Roberts, Nancy Smith and Mary Ann Williams. Plans were made for the Turkey dinner to be served to the husbands at the Christmas party in December. Mrs. Vona Cox entertained for the Thursday Night Bridge ' Club last week. The hotsess served delicious pumpkin pie and hot chocolate to twelve memb- -' ers and guests and the remain- - ; der of the time was spent in visiting and bridge. Prizes were won by Gertrude Easton, Susie Beeson, Bernice Thompson and Lenore Swindlehurst. The Modern Mothers Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. Hattie Schwab last Friday after noon. President Ethel Woolsey conducted. Mrs. Maud Christiansen gave an interesting report on the book, "'Golden Sheaves of Richfield" by Pearl F. Jackson. The book is the early history of Richfield, Utah. The hostess served refreshments to ten members. Thirteen members and guest3 of the Beaver Study Club enjoyed the hospitality of Mrs. Ina McQuarrie last Friday afternoon. She ably reviewed the book, "Dr. Karl G. Maeser, A Mormon Educator" by Alma P. Burton. Dr. Maeser was the founder and first principal of the Brigham Young University at Provo. The Nelsons went to Salt Lake but will return to have Thanksgiving dinner with the Wards. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ashworth of Tooele came after their children that have been visiting with their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Ashworth, while their mother was in the hospital Mr. Wayne Smith left Mon- day for Salt Lake where he will be in attendance at the Vernon wedding of a room-matParker, he met while attending school at Weber College. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Birkhead, originally from England, and the new building supervisor of the Second Ward Church addition, were dinner guests of President and Mrs. Wallace Yardley on Sunday. Warr have really been enjoying a visit with their grandson Craig, son of Dr. and Mrs. Newell Warr, for the past three weeks while his par- - ' ents took a trip to San Fransisco The Warrs will spend Thanksgiving with their parents and take Craig back with them.
