Mr. and Mrs. Doug McMullin and family of Salt Lake were in Beaver for the pheasant hunt and visiting with his mother, Ruby McMullin and Elsie and Annabell Hales. They returned home Monday and Elsie went back with them for a few days. Mrs Tina Ferris of Twin Falls Idaho" is visiting in Beaver with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dean and other relatives, Mr. and Mrs, Edwin Palce. Word has been received by Alene Williams of a very sern ious accident her nephew, Williams has had. He was driving truck for Kennecott Company in Ely, Nevada, when he was completely covered with It took several hours a cave-ito release him and cut him from the cab of the truck. District President Sara Bakes and Gwen Smith, president of the Milford Club, were in charge of the meeting The invocation and blessing on the food was by Mrs. Naomi Hughes, Minutes of the last meeting were read by district secretary Dora McMullin and approved. State officers present to give the instructions were Joyce Frisby, Ann Kidd, Olga Braden, Ada Carpenter and Hilda Gardner. Clubs represented were St. George, Panguitch, Cedar City, Milford and Beaver. Twenty-si- x members of the Beaver Club were there to get the instructions and enjoy the dinner and program. A piano solo "Autumn Leaves' ' was played by Miss Roberts. Josephine Killiam and Jerry Kirk accompanied by Marge sang a medley of old songs which were very beautiful The state board meeting will be held in Salt Lake on January 24, 1965. District President Sara Bakes thanked everyone for coming. Mr. and Mrs. Frances (Mary Ellen) Gray stopped in Beaver last week to visit Mrs. Grace Williams and Miss Alene Williams. The Grays are on their way to Southern California to visit their children. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rice of Palm Springs, Calif, called at the home of Mr and Mrs. Otto Schwab Wednesday. Mrs. Rice was the former Hortense Hardy of Milford and worked several years for the Teluride Power Co. Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Wanda) White are visiting in Beaver. Bill returned to Oroville, Calif, where he is employed and Wanda will remain here for several weeks to help her daughter Virginia with the new baby. Mrs Waldo Yardley received word from her aunt, Mrs. Clara Smith, who is living in Kanab, that she had been in the hospital with pneumonia but was slowly improving. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nelson and Mrs. Hester Harris motored to St. George Saturday. Mr. and Mrs Nelson returned home Sunday. Mrs. Harris will remain in St. George to do ordinance work in the Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Albert T Smith have started their new home on the lot next to the Hales home. The Atkin brothers are doing the building. Captain Maurine Patterson took charge of the meeting. The minutes were read and the opening prayer was given by Beth Morgan. Singing took place and then the time was given to Ann Swindlehurst for the lesson. It was the story of the Indians and the Pioneers in Utah in the early days. SEAFARER'S TUNA CHOWPER cans solid-pactuna lb. mushrooms, sliced 2 cups sliced carrots 1 cup sliced celery 1 quart milk 1 Tablespoon lea & Pen-inWorcestershire 1 tsp. garlic salt y2 Up. salt V tsp. pepper Drain tuna, reserving cup oil. Heat cup tuna oil. Add mushrooms, car rots, onion and celery. Cook until onions are tender, stirring now and then. Break tuna Into pieces. Add tuna, milk, Worcestershire sauce, ' garlic salt, salt and pepper to vegeta bles. Mrs. Garcia's sister, Linda, and her husband, Grady Fleming, have also been here since August. The Flemings attended school at CSU but have now returned to Georgia to attend a university there. They surely enjoyed their stay in Utah with all the mountains we have.
