The singing, music, and sermons were outstanding in talent, and the sacrament too was administered and passed by members of the family of Uncle Hayward and Aunt Inez; also the opening and closing prayers by sons Frank and Max Carter, The chapel seats were filled for the occasion. In this connection, your correspondent might add that she was happy to be among those in attendance on this auspicious occasion. Mrs. Carter (Inez) is a sister of my husband, Lynn Roberts, and I have been in the family since the 1st of July, 46 years ago. Saturday morning callers at our home were Mrs. Ted Garrett and n two children, our first Johnnie Ted and sister Jerrie; also Mrs. Garrett's mother, Mrs. Harry Knell, son Kelly and daughter Shirk ot Cedar City, and a sister, Mrs. Virginia Knell, of St. George. They were enroute to Cedar City after a visit of a week at the Garrett home in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Lucy Williams received word her sister, Mrs. Annie Hammond of Tooele, was seriously ill in Salt Lake City and left Wednesday of last week to be with her. She returned home early Sunday morning by train, feeling downhearted at the seriousness of her sister's illness. She says she will return upstate soon to help care for her. Mr, and Mrs, Chas. K. Jameson returned home Saturday night af- ! ter touring the Glen Canyon area and other interesting places along the way. They were escorted by their and daughter, Mr. and Mis. Laltaine DeMille, and granddaughter Karma. Also on the tour was a nephew, Allan K. Jameson, son of Delbert and Effle Jameson, Mr, and Mrs, Joe Ashley have had three of their nephews from Cedar City and Milford visiting at ' The most important item to report this week from Minersville is the gala 60th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Hayward Carter, which took place Sunday at the family home. They were married in the year 1900 and have reared a family of ten children. They also have 44 grandchildren They and 70 all visited parents and grandparents on this very special occasion, along with sisters and brothers and a host of other relatives on both sides, together with friends from near and far.
