This ends one phase of the School Survey which started in 1959, and begins another, that of adjusting to recommendations made by the survey group. Although school officials and members of the 60 man citizens' committee have heard oral reports, they will not have an opportunity to examine the final written document until June 2nd, when Dr. Keith R. Oakes will present the report at a meeting to be held in Eeaver High School. Previous to inviting 45 professional educators in to excitizens' amine each department in each school, the committee studied current school objectives and made changes in philosophy wherever they deemed advisable. In all cases the actual evaluation was done in light of this revised philosophy. As a double check for accuracy, local to compare with results teachers have made obtained by the professional teams. Members of the team were selected from Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah State University, College of Southern Utah, Utah State Department of Education, and several Utah school districts. All are recognized as experts in their respective fields. Eeaver District Superintendent D. R. Pearce has stated that the final written report will be available to the public later in the summer. - " 1 ' 4 -- v; ' i 'V - I Arlen Ford, Mathematics instructor, Davis High School, and LeRue Winget, Secondary Supervisor, State Department of Education, evaluate a ninth grade cbss at Beaver High School. 1 4 ! !
