Mrs. Funeral services were held on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Minersville chapel for George Edwin Le Fevre, 84, prominent sheep man of Beaver County, who died Friday at a.m., at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Madge Carter, of causes incident to age. Bishop Ruben W. Dotson conducted the services. Burial was in the Minersville cemetery. Mr. LeFevre was born March 13, 1866, at Parowan, a son of William and Frances Banks LeFevre. On Nov. 4, 1888, he married Margaret Amanda DeLong in Panguitch, where he resided until moving to Parowan in 1900. In 1909, he moved to Minersville, where he resided since. In his younger days, he met Brigham Young. He also engaged in athletics, particularly foot racing, at which he was adept. His wife died March 12, 1922. Surviving are two sons and four daughters: Mrs. Carter and Mrs Armina Banks, Minersville; Mrs Celesta Thompson. Eureka; Mrs. Winnie Young, Richfield; Ellis LeFevre, Maybelle, Colorado; and Darrell LeFevre. Franklin, Idaho; two brothers: Jess IeFevre, Tab-ionand Leon LeFevre, Panguitch; also 3 9 grandchildren and and Mrs. J. H. He was taken as far as Salt Lake City by his parents, who spent last week-enthere visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Don Oakden and family. Don Yardley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Yardley, was another Guardsman to spend a furlough here with relatives and friends. On December 10th, the official government thermometer recorded 65 degrees and on Christmas the temperature was a pleasant 60 degrees. Low for the month has been 8 above, reached two mornings this past week. Last Friday evening was the only foggy night, thus far, and by morning that had lifted. While the pleasant, sunny, open winter Is enjoyable, yet farmers and stockmen are feeling some apprehension about the lack of moisture, both in the valley and In the mountains. MRS. UOY WATERS SEVERELY BURNED AT HOME, SUNDAY Mrs. Roy Waters and daughter Joan were severely burned, Sunday at their home when a pres- sure cooked exploded. Mrs. Wat-ter- s was attempting to open the cooker when the accident occurred. She was seriously burned on her face, left arm and upper part of her body. She has suffered much pain this week and is Improving very slowly. Joan's burns seemed not so severe and she is recover ing satisfactorily, it is reported. Miss LUHe Mae Waters came from Provo on Thursday to assist with the family and be with her mother. 10-da- SUNDAY SCHOOUS PRESENT CHRISTMAS PROGRAMS To Richfield Five With the opening league game only a week away, Delta at Beaver on January 5, the Beaver basketball squad came up with one loose and one win in practice tilts this week. Two more games are scheduled, at Sallna tonight (Friday) and at Monroe, Dec. 30. In a return game with Richfield on Saturday night, the Beavers were defeated 45 to 31, but in a game here Wednesday night they were able to upset the favored Springville squad and win At Richfield, Farnsworth scored 11 points for high point man. The team connected with only 12 field goals and 7 out of 18 foul shots. In Wednesday game against the Springville crew, Paice got 7 field goals and one foul for a total of 15 points, to lead local scorers. The Beavers were able to dunk 4 out of 8 free tries, and Springville connected with 7 out of 11 charity pre-seas- 40-3- 9. tosses. BAKER TO HE HONORED ON 80th BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY An open house will oe held for Mrs. Dorothy E. Baker on her 80th birthday anniversary, January 2, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norene Sharp at Richfield. Mrs. Baker, who was left a widow early in life, raised her children here in Beaver. She was one of Beaver's merchants for sev eral years, and also served as City Treasurer. Mrs. Baker moved to Salt Lake City in 1925 to put her hovs throueh the Unlveristy. Here, too, she was a merchant, until she reached the age of 78. Her sister, Mrs. Sarah R. Woolsey, lived with her 11 years, dulrng the time she kept a store on K Street.
