Giacoma with a party of friends arrived in Beaver Monday evening and established camp about sixteen miles east of Beaver. After spending the morning the party of nine returned to camp early for lunch. The bullet struck a rock, deflected and struck Giacoma in the back, passing-throughis stomach, and lodged in the sleeve of the sweater of another member of the party. Dr. R. E. Barta, of Park City, a companion on the trip, rushed the injured man to Beaver, where Dr. I. S. Miller assisted Dr. Barta in making the man as comfortable as possible and accompanied the party with the unfortunate man to the Milford hospital. Giacoma died a short time after his arrival at the hospital. A hearing was held in Milford Tuesday evening, conducted by Judge Nichols, and after hearing the story of the various members of the party, he decided that the mishap was purely accidental and no inquest was needed. Harry Ward, Milford undertaker prepared the body for shipment, and an ambulance was sent down from Park City to take the remains of Giacoma to his home. The hunting party of which the unfortunate man was a member, was composed of Erick Anderson, a deputy sheriff; his son, Andrus, whoso accidental discharged rifle caused the fatality; Dr. R. E. Barta and three Sund(juist brothers, all of Park City, and a Mr. Stanley of Salt Lake. The bullet that killed Giacoma was a 25-3- 5 caliber mushroom shell, and caused a terrible wound through the young man's body. Both Giacoma and young Anderson were friends of long standing and the latter was heartbroken over the accident. Giacoma was born in November, 1!)10, a son of Joseph and Mary Giacoma, in Kermuuta, Italy. His family emigrated when he was a child, settling in Tark City, where he was educated, graduating from the high school and taking employment in the mines there. He is survived by his Mother, a sister, Mrs. Margaret Caldwell, and a brother, Joseph Giacoma.
