It's a time to be transported back to our warmest childhood memories. And it's a magical time when the joy of the season seems to make everyone a little bit happier. Unfortunately, it's also a difficult time for us as a nation as we deal with the tragic results of Sept. 11, which has so many of our fellow military members supporting our multi-frowar against terrorism. Like many before them, thousands of airmen, soldiers, sailors and Marines are celnt ebrating the holidays in foreign lands, fighting for freedom and democracy.. .fighting for America! Although we're in the midst of a very serious challenge to our nation, we can still take time to enjoy the magic of a holiday season and the many blessings we enjoy as Americans. As you are enjoying the holidays with family and friends, let me also encourage you to remember our heroes overseas and especially those who are right in our midst supporting the war effort and making daily sacrifices to keep our families and our communities safe.
