Last years hunter success was 16.3 percent. This is in line with the long range trend of hunter success which between ranges 16-2- 2 percent. This years hunting pressure seems to be light as compared to years past. The reason for this is the per hunter law in effect this year. Most hunters who contacted the opening weekend said that they were encouraged by the amount of one-de- er deer they were seeing. Many hunters were getting shots at deer, but very few had scored.
