Show May Wednesday, The Helper Journal 5, 1976 3 Fr. Pellegrino to mark 25 years in priesthood Rev. Francis Pellegrino of Salt Lake City, a native of Helper, will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood on May 13. A special Mass of Thanksgiving will be held May 16 at Sacred Heart Church, 174 East 9th South, Salt Lake City, at 2 p.m., to celebrate the anniversary. The mass and reception following are oipen to the public. Fr. Pellegrino was born in Helper on February 18, 1927 to Mr. and Mrs. John (former Pellegrino A. Migliaccio). Jospehine He attended elementary and secondary schools in Kenilworth; Nortre Dame School in Price and Carbon High School for his junior year. Father Pellegrino entered St. Josph's College in Mountain Vew, Calif, for his final year of high school and to begin preparation for the Holy Priesthood. After three years at St. Joseph's; he moved to St. Patrick's Major Seminary in Menlo Park, Calif, for his studies in philosphy and theology. Upon completion of his theological studies, Father Pellegrino was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood for the Diocese of Salt Lake City. After spending three Roosevelt. In February 1963, he was assigned by Bishop Federal to Pastorate of Sacred Heart Parish in Slat Lake City, where he is presently assigned. on summer months assignment at Christ the King Parish in Cedar City, Father Pellegrino was assigned as the first Associate Pastor ever at St. Marguerite's in Tooele. He subsequently served as Associate Pastor at Holy Rosary Parish in Bingham Canyon and at Notre Dame de Lourdes in Price, where he also taught at Notre Dame High School. In June 1955, Father Pellegrino received his first assignment as Pastor in the Diocese assuming the duties as Pastor of St. in Helen's Parish Father Pellegrino's reside in parents now Carmichael, California. He has a younger brother, Anthony A. Pellegrino, who is a full time counselor in San Juan School District in Sacramento where he resides with his wife and two children. He also has a sister, Mrs. Dominic J. Ielati (former Dorothy An Pellegrino) who resides in Chico, Calif, with her husband and two children. Rev. Submitted by Mrs. Iola Cobain, Helper. 472-560- 4; lb. lean Pork lb. boneless Veal 1V2 tsp. salt 1 egg beaten cup milk Vz cup fine dry crumbs V4 cup shortening Vz cup meat stock or water V2 tsp. accent flavoring Trim off excess fat from pork and cut both kinds of meat into IV2 inch cubes. Stick Skewers through center of these cubes. Alternating pork and veal and using enough meat to fill Skewers, continue until skewers are a little more than half full. Sprinkle meat with salt, pepper and accent, then press into shape of chicken leg. Dip in cracker crumbs and press again then in seasoned beaten egg, diluted with milk. Roll in crumbs until well coated. Brown slowly on all sides in hot shortening in a heavy skillet over low heat. Place on rack in Dutch oven or electric fry pan. Add stock and reduce heat and cover and simmer slowly on low heat Wz hours until very tender. Make gravy from drippings to serve with meat if desiied. Serves meeting of the Women's Club. They visited with Mr. Piccioni's Mrs. Jennie sister, Cochrane who has been ill in Sacramento. They then traveled on to Los Banos, Calif, where they visited with their daugher, Jona, and her husband, Todd Merrill. Mr. and Mrs. Ab Day spent the Easter weekend visiting their daughter, Peggy and her husband, and Peterson, Boyd children in Lehi. On Sat. they visited with Mr. and Mrs. George Ungricht and family in Provo, and attended the homecoming meeting for their son, Phillip Ungricht, who just a recently completed mission for the LDS Church in Canada. They also attended a reception held in at the home of his parents that evening. The his honor returned Days Monday. home on Easter weekend visitors in Helper included Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bottino and children from Salt Lake City, who visited at the homes of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bottino and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dalpaiz. Also Paul and Pat Dalpiaz and daughter, Jessie, from Salt Lake City visited at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dalpiaz of Helper, over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Perri from Green River, Wyo. visited their son, Michael and his family in Spring Glen and Mr. Perri's mother, Mrs. Josephine area. Mrs. Tolich, Stana, Perri, as well as other and John were guests at the home of Dolores and Frank Ularich in Price for Easter Sunday dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Magann and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Tryon all of Salt Lake City, joined their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Magann and Tracy of Helper to family members in Spring Glen and Helper over the Easter weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Gam Pollock and children from Bountiful were recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen James and family of Helper, where they enjoyed the holiday together. Mrs. Jennie Chesnik and Mrs. Grant Babcock flew to Oakland, Calif, on April 6 to attend funeral services for Mrs. Chesnik's brother, Joe Benedict. They stayed 5 days. Mrs. Anna Tolich of Spring Glen welcomed her grandson, John Evatz, who visited her for five days during Easter week. He flew from Reno, Nev. to Salt Lake City and visited with his aunt, Stana Tolich spend Easter together, picnicing and camping in the San Rafael desert. Other family members who enjoyed the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tomsic, Mr. and Mrs. John Taskar, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Myers and children. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Payne motored to Clearfield last week to attend funeral services for Mr. Payne's brother, James D. Payne, who died April 22 in an Ogden hospital. Burial was in Sandy, Utah. While in Sandy, the Paynes spent a day with Mrs. Payne's brother, Dominic Priano, and family. briefly before traveling here. He also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Tony Evatz and family as well as other friends and relatives in the Gem show set for May 15, 16 materials and findings to pursue the enjoyable hobby of rock hounding. Again this year the concessions will be handled by the Carbon County Girl Scouts. Door prizes will be given away every hour during the show in addition to two grand prizes, these can be seen in the window of the Equitable Insurance Agency office on Main Street. Show Chairman Wayne Johnston stated that his fellow club members expect this to be one of their best shows. The show will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 15 and from 9 to 6 p.m. May 16. Local residents will be to several treated demonstrations at the upcoming gem and mineral show to be held at the National Guard Armony, May 15th and 16th. The local club, Castle Valley Gem Society is sponsoring this show, which is an annual affair. They will display their handiwork and collections of dinosaur bone, cycads, petrified wood, artifacts and jewelry. An additional feature will be a silent auction table where cutting and collecting material can be bid upon.
