This was the second straight championship for the rail crew managed by Matt Kloepfer. The title game played on Wednesday of last week was a complete reversal of the four previous meetings of these two teams this season. Rio Grande overwhelmed the East Carbon five from the opening whistle, running up a 1 margin early in the second period and forcing Miners Trading to ball the rest play catch-u- p of the way. Rio Grande made the margin hold for a final 3 score. This was the second game between these two rivals in three nights as Rio Grande 3 won a classic victory the previous Monday to 33-1- 73-6- 65-6- clinch the second half. Miners trading had won the first half and had beaten the rail crew three straight times earlier in the season. When the weather was cold, the girls ran around the gym, but now the girls run around the track. On March 13, the girls took a different route. They ran out the front gate and part way up Uintah Street. They turned left and ran up over a hill. Then came the hard part. The girls had to run down the stairs, turn around and run back up. The next step was to run on the sidewalk trail behind the school and back to the school. The top runners in the class are Kelly Spensko, Sandra Hoggatt, Gaylene Cloward, Kim Kloepfer and Debra Gerrard. Oliveto's emergency.
