To be graduated will be 75, and 27 others will receive certificates of completion. Baccalaureate services will be conducted tonight in the Geary Theatre. Guest speaker will be Alma Sonne, business and church leader and member of the Board of Trustees of Utah State University. Valedictorian speech will be delivered by John Menotti of Price. Invocation will be given by the Rev. John B. Hart, Price, of Notre Dame de Lourdes Ca- tholic Church and benediction by Max W. Swenson, directok the Institute of Religion, of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. Organ music will be played by Mrs LaRue of Price. Commencement exercises" will begin Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Geory Theatre. William P. Mill- er, president of Weber State College, Ogden, will address the students. Presentation of the graduates will be made by Dr. David R. Cox, dean of students.. The di- plomas will be presented by a member of the University of Utah. These three Junior Highs are the first to become accredited in the State of Utah. The State Board of Education commended the Carbon School District personnel for the excellence of their efforts in preparing for accreditation. The standards by which the Junior High Schools were judged are to be regarded as minimum requirements which have been substantiated by research, experience, or the judgment of educators as basic requirements for a satisfactory program for junior high schools. Carbon schools are expected to exceed these standards wherever possible. BEAUTIFICATIOII A special meeting of the city council will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the council chambers, at which representatives from Carbon County and the State committees on community beautification, will attend and discuss the local program with city officials and civic and other community leaders. Representing the state will be Dr. Arvil Stark, a recognized authority on landscape beautifi catiton and associated projects. He will explain what has been done in other communities in the state and will offer a few suggestions to the local group on general improvements and city beautification.
