On the ticket running for coun cilmen. are Stan Diamanti and Paul Young. Mr. Young, is no newcomer in the local political arena, having run for the council post before and losing out only by a small margin. He said he. feels that now that he is better known and a bonafide resident and property owner of Helper, he will be more favorably 'considered by tlje voters. The" new name in city politics is Stan Diamanti. A bother of former mayor and now Commissioner Steve J. Diamanti, Stan is very well known in Helper and Carbon county. A former, main street businessman, he is now Lavoy Gale, native of Helper, Monday afternoon worked his first shift as a patrolman on the Helpep police force. He was appointed at the last meeting of the Helper City Council, Oct. 10, to fill the vacancy made by the sudden departure of a former police appointee, Dick Frutiger, The convention meeting of the Citizens party of Prigressive Helper Monday night nomnated a full ticket of candidates to appear on the November ballot, it was reported Wednesday by Dr. J. J. Dalpiaz, chairman. I 1! Nominated to head the ticket as mayor for a four-yeterm, was Chris J. Jouflas, incumbent, who is completing a term of three wears as city councilman and one year as mayor by appointment. Mr Jouflas was appointed mayor January 1st when Steve J.
