Show '11 F'tSsytenf MINING A Funeral Services Held Tuesday Spring Glen and Price Funeral services for Mrs. Maulsby, 70, active fraternal and civic worker of Helper, who died Friday, Oct. 22, in a Salt ILake City hospital after a long illness, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Mitchell Funeral Chapel at Price. Naomi Chapter No. 13, Order of Eastern Star was in- - charge of the services. Ma-z- ie Mrs. Maulsby was born Dec. 24, 18S3, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of John T. and Susanna Pendleton Thompson. She was a past president of the Helper American Legion Auxiliary; a member of the Eight et Forty, and was a past president of the Daughters of the Nile, OJi.S. 11, O. .Mauls- 1902, at Raton, SLATES Jeanne Passey of Price, and Frank Blackham of Spring Glen have been named to represent Club Utah at the National 4-- H Congress in Chicago November 28 to December 2. Jeanne Passey won the state honor in Recreation and Rural Arts sponsored by the U. S. Rubber Company, and Frank Blackham was named state winner in the Garden contest sponsored by the Allis - Chalmers Manufacturing Company, Tractor Division. Jeanne Passey, 18, is now attending the Brigham Young Uni She is the versity in Provo. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Passey of Price. Mr. Passey is Area Conservationist for this section of the state, and Mrs. Passey is teaching school in H leader is Price. Jeanne's Mrs. Helen Bunnell, who also sent two to Chicago last year and one to Washington, D. C. this summer. Jeanne's record has been built over the last seven years, in which time she has completed seven years of clothing, two years of foods, three years of home grounds beautification, and three of recreation. Besides these projects carried. Jeanne has been chairman of the recreation leaders' committee of the H association. She began her record in Sanpete County. Later hor parents moved to Price and she has continued with the program and has done outstanding work in both counties. Frank Blackham. 17, is now attending school at the Carbon County High School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester of Blackham Spring Glen. Frank's father is employed at the Kenilvvorth mine, and his mother is active in church work leader for and has been a nine years. Two other members of Mrs. Blackham's club went to Chicago last year as winners in contests. Frank has a record of seven work, three of years in whioh his mother was his lender. His projects include seven years of gardens, three years of crops, three years in leadership, and he has also had several livestock projects. Frank has been very randchildren.
