Approximately fifty men are engaged in cleaning up the ovens, repairing the tracks on both the top of the battery of ovens, as well as the rail lines along the discharge end. In charge of this operation for the new operating company is George Morlock. as superintendent with E. J. Duffy of Provo as manager of the entire operation, which consists of the blast furnace at Iron ton, as well as the Columbia coke ovens. It is understood tliat the first order for 5000 tons of coal to be used in warming up the coke ovens will be delivered at once. Nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hatfield, 286 Welby St., Helper Utah, has report ed to Keesler Field, Mississippi for training in the Airplane and Engine Mechanics School located here. Keesler Field, a Base of the Technical Division, Air Training Command, is the home of the world's largest Airplane and Engine Mechanics School. The training Pfc. Sabin receives in the school will extend over a period of approximately 28 weeks and will include instruction in air. craft electrical systems, engine operations, fuel and oil systems, propellors, structures, instruments and inspections.
