Show Is "Hello Day" CONTRACT LET TO Today Carbon MOOSE ACTIVITIES PRICE HAS PLANS BUILD RADIO FOR WINTER SEASON FOR MANY At College AWS Officers in Charge of Women students Associated Carbon college will hold their annual "hello day" this Thursday according to Mrs Hess Jones, dean of women. Students will be given cards as they enter the building Thursday morning on which they are to have the names written of new acquaintance they make throughout the day. The opening activity will be an assembly in the college gymnasium which will begin at 10:30 a.m. At this assembly a program for both men and women students will be and one number from presented members of the faculty will be had. Kach club and sority connected with the school will present a short skit depicting one of their special activities. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., a tea will be served to which all students will be invited. WILLIAMS RATES PLACE ON UTAH MUSIC COMMITTEE E. M. Williams has been named as member of the State Music committee to act with two other members in raising the music department activities in the state, it was announced Tuesday. Mr Williams is instrumental music director for Carbon college and Carlwn county school district, having under his supervision and training most of the bands and orchestras which are organized with the county school system. Mr Williams stated Tuesday, that a meeting of the committee would be held in Provo at the Sutton cafe this Thursday evening, for the pur pose of deciding what music festi vals should be held throughout the state this year and to make plans for any activity which would tend to create additional interest in school music. The other two members of the committee are Ellis E. Johnson, principal of Manti high school and J. D. Christensen, music director at Payson high school. START WITH DANCE The first of a series of dances and socials for Moose members of the Helper Lodge, and guests (dances are open to the general public), will take place Saturday evening, October 61 h, at the Helper Moose hall, stated Malio Pecorelli, governor. In the past restrictions on travel caused by gas rationing, have put the "damper" such activities, but now with changes for the better in that respect and with a lessening working around the clock, the activities will again take a top spot in the Moose program. Plans for a state convention of Moose here at Helper in 1946, will be the major topic of discussion. Planned Alterations At the regular meeting of the local lodge,, Loyal Order of Moose, officers of the building committee presented a plan for alterations of the basement of the building that would make available for the members a reading room, modern kitchen facilities and a pool table. Bracken Lee, who said the resignation had been accepted by the Price city council and the hospital medical staff. Mr Tatton has held the position at the hospital eight years, and will enter private business. Mayor Lee said that while several had been received for applications the position, it was not expected that the vacancy would be filled immediately, since the appointment must be made with approval of the hospital medical staff.
