Memmott of Scipio was honored on his 71th birthday at the home of one of Iris daughters and Mr and Mrs Urn. J. Desmond, at a delicious turkey dinner. Other members of the family at. tending were Mrs C. A. Memmott, and Mrs Duane DeVine of Gol- conda. Nevada, Mr and Mrs Chris Jouflas and Mr and Mrs C. X. Mem- mott of Helper. Last week at the regular city council mee'ing. it was reported that within the past three or four days someone maliciously entered the lavatories at fhe city park and deliberately pounded the toilet bowls into hundreds of pieces. Recently three thoughtless youngsters broke the pipeline leading to the city skating pond. Then too, reports are almost daily reaching some city official th.-.- junior high school youngsters are making a swing out of the swinging bridge across the Price river on Canyon street. Vulgar writing is still appearing on and in city buildings and sidewalks. These are only a few of the tnings that have stirred the mayor and city council to a point of action, which impells them to seek out such offenders and have justice, by law, meted out to them. It would be a shame if the youngsters and oldsters of this com. munity were denied such pleasures as ice skating in winter; swimming in summer; Indoor recreational games, and various other activitiesbut that's exactly what is going to happen, unless those who thoughtlessly or maliciously damage and destroy city property, stop , immediately. It has been wisely said: "A hint to the wise is sufficient."
