This gale will be held by the Relief Society in the Fossat building across from the post office. According to members of the society, persons attending the sale will be able to get just the kind of needlework that will make excellent Christmas presents. Christmas mailing and holiday business is expected to swell the 1939 receipts to a point where between 15 20 per cent and increase per cent is expected for the year. People who anti- the E. The week beginning December 18, is expected to begin the heavy traffic through the U.S. mail departments, and w'ill really begin the 1939 Christmas mailing season, Mr. Gibson stated. Parcel post and regular first class mail is still going through to European countries, despite the war that is now in progress there. Mail service is being handled through neutral countries throughout Europe and then sent to waring countries through unknown sources. United States post office department is still conducting air mail service through to Portugal, with two planes going through weekly. To assist in giving local people assured prompt service, Mr. Gibson has been authorized to employ another clerk during the Christmas rush. He did not announce who would but receive the position, stated the addition would probably be made this week. Avoid the rush, and mail 'our Christmas packages early this year. NEWS RAINS RECEIPTS SHOWN Ten New Members Initiated Into B.P.W. Club Initiation exercises for ten Women and Professional club members were held Monday evening in the civic auditorium. Mrs. Sophia Roberts of Price conducted the ceremonies. The meeting was in the form of a candlelight tea, with silver candles furnishing the necessary light. The tea table was beautifully .arranged in colors of silver and blue. Miniature silver reindeer mounted upon a' blue plate were suggestive of the holiday season. Mrs. Roberts and Mrs. Bertha Spratling presided at the table. On the program was an interesting review by Mrs. E, H. McAlpine of the book "Grapes of Wrath." Piano selections by Grace Bowman and vocal selections by the Helper Central f chool sextet were enjoyed.
