This picture when completed, will include scenes front most of the buildings, parks and departments in our city. It wil reach out and Include a number of scenic attractions In and near Hel. per. To add a great deal more color and interest, coal mines in this area will be filmed, which will make it doubly interesting from the. standpoint of local interest. A number of Helper business concerns have signed Individual contracts to have their own ' firms and employee personnel brought into the picture. This arrangement was purely voluntary on the part of the local merchant. When a representative of Blache' Screen Service of San Francisco met with aPProximate'y 22 members of the Helper Board of Trade, two weeks ago tonight, his company had signed an agreement with the local theatre, and was prepared to begin production of the picture regardless of whether any of the local merchants signed a personal agreement with the company. After listening to the explanation made by the representative, members of the Board of Trade present unanimously were of the opinion that as a "Trade at Home" stimulating project, the idea had unusual possibilities and .merits. However, they didn't feel that the or-- . ganization should go on record as sponsoring the idea, but did agree that they would okey the contact "man a letter of Introduction and sanction his solicitation of the community. The jetter prepared by the secretary, very definitely stated that it was not a project of the Board of Trade, but merely an authorization to contact the local merchants. For this reason the officers and directors of the organization do not feel they should be criticized for lending any effort in developing a "Trade at Home" consciousness among the residents of Helper, which the plan and idea ia designed to develop through the preparation and production of the picture "Helper on Parade." The prime objective of the newly formed organization is to perpetuate Helper and its merchants into an organization that will really work together In making our city a more tolerable and desired place for outsiders to come to for recreational activities, to build and maintain their homes and accept as their trading center. If this objective can be realized, then the Helper Board of Trade has more than fulfilled its 'promise and obligation, and will no doubt become as permanent as the famed "Uock of Gibraltar," in the everyday activity of our community. Its most recently accepted project, a "Fall Festival and Bargain Days," scheduled for November 10 and 11. is anothtr plan to assist in accomplishing the desired objective. This ldea will require the help of every mercuant, professional and business man on main street; tbe combined forces of all civic,, fraternal and religious organizations and citizens in Helper to put the project over to completion in a manner Helper has become famous for. Let's get together in the interest of ourselves and really put. Helper on the map in capital letters. . !
